4-Star RB Dexter Williams Decommits from Miami Hurricanes
Miami suffered through a disappointing 6-7 season in 2014, and apparently that subpar performance is having a ripple effect in the class of 2015.

Friday afternoon, standout 4-star tailback commitment Dexter Williams announced via Twitter that he was decommitting from the Hurricanes’ program just a month before national signing day:
Williams, who stands 6’0”, 192 pounds, is rated as the No. 10 tailback prospect in America, the No. 13 overall prospect in talent-rich Florida and the nation’s No. 83 prospect overall.
The Winter Garden, Florida, native runs the 40-yard dash in 4.54 seconds. SB Nation recruiting analyst Bud Elliott said before the season that he is an aggressive runner with explosion. “Williams is one of the best running backs in the 2015 class and is capable of being a multiyear starter at the highest level,” he wrote.
He claims offers from Louisville, Florida, Notre Dame, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio State, Tennessee, South Carolina, Southern California, Wisconsin and Wake Forest. Louisville, Florida and Notre Dame are among the favorites to land him now that he has moved on from Miami.
The Hurricanes still have a solid 18-member class that ranks No. 20 nationally. The ‘Canes have two tailback commitments: St. Thomas Aquinas’ Jordan Scarlett, a 4-star ranked as the nation’s No. 8 tailback prospect, and Booker T. Washington’s Mark Walton, the No. 11 tailback in America.
The 'Canes won’t be hurting in the backfield next fall, but Williams’ departure from the class clearly stings Al Golden and Co. as signing day closes in.
