Under Armour All-American Game 2015: Date, TV Schedule, Rosters and More

Nate LoopDec 31, 2014

The college football season will finally be coming to a close at the beginning of 2015 as the alphabet soup of bowl games gives way to the College Football Playoff, but there is one contest that can get fans who no longer have a horse in the race excited again for next season.

The Under Armour All-America Game takes place on Jan. 2 and features some of the best high school seniors in the nation. It's a fairly comprehensive compilation of talent; even the top long-snappers get involved.

Some of these players will become superheroes to legions of college and perhaps even NFL fans over the next few years. Consider this game part of their origin story, as plenty of non-obsessive observers will be getting acquainted with these prep stars for the first time.

The list of college commitments from participating players features plenty of the usual suspects such as LSU, USC and Ohio State. Of course, there is still plenty of recruiting intrigue to be found in this game, as a significant number of the recruits have yet to declare which schools they will attend next season, and some may finally do so during the game broadcast.

The exhibition practically doubles as an early showcase for the next generation of Nick Saban disciples; Alabama has commitments from 11 players participating in the Under Armour All-America Game, according to ESPN.com.

Under Armour always comes out with some truly unique uniforms for this contest, and this year's editions are no different. ESPN's Darren Rovell provided a look:

It's hard to tell whether these are meant for a football exhibition or some intergalactic space warrior-themed round of laser tag. Either way, don't adjust the color balance on your television set.

Here is a look at the schedule for the game followed by quick profiles of three of the top undeclared players to watch in this contest.

Undeclared Players to Watch

CB Iman Marshall (No. 3 Overall, No. 1 Position)

Long Beach Poly in Long Beach, California, has a long, strong tradition of nurturing top-tier football players. Illustrious stars such as the Washington Redskins' DeSean Jackson and the Jacksonville Jaguars' Marcedes Lewis are just two of the gridiron heroes to have graced the program.

The 2015 Under Armour All-America Game will feature the latest talented football player to come out of this school: top cornerback recruit Iman Marshall. The Jackrabbits star is an excellent combination of size and speed at a position where usually one of those two traits is at a premium. Marshall is listed at 6'1", 190 pounds and boasts a 4.5 40-yard dash time.

According to the 247Sports Crystal Ball predictions, Marshall is all but bound to become a Trojan (93 percent chance).

However, that hasn't stopped Alabama recruits such as quarterback Blake Barnett and safety Shawn Burgess-Becker from trying to convince him to head to Tuscaloosa.

"[The commits] say they need corners," said Marshall, via AL.com's John Talty. "The position is wide open, so I'm still taking it into consideration."

According to ESPN.com's Mitch Sherman, Marshall has said he would also consider Michigan should it hire Jim Harbaugh. Now that the famous alum is officially the team's head coach, the Wolverines could be a big draw among recruits this year, per Sherman:

"

Straight out of the gate after his arrival at Stanford, Harbaugh pursued a quarterback out of Texas whose other finalists included Northwestern, Virginia, Purdue and Rice.

It wasn't good fortune that led Harbaugh to Andrew Luck

The coach is a certified evaluator of talent. His final team at Stanford stomped Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl to finish 12-1, one season after the Cardinal snapped a streak of seven straight losing seasons.

"

Marshall doesn't have much left to prove to scouts at the Under Armour game, if anything at all. Instead, expect him to show off his incredible range and man-coverage skills and maybe, just maybe give a national audience more insight as to what program will be so lucky as to acquire his services.

SDE Terry Beckner Jr. (No. 17 Overall, No. 3 Position)

Don't let the the Under Armour roster fool you; Terry Beckner Jr. is one of the best strong-side defensive ends in the prep game, and his lining up at defensive tackle during the upcoming contest only speaks to his Herculean strength and versatility.

At 6'4" and 293 pounds, Beckner is a beast on the bull rush, but his highlight tapes show that he is well-versed in the art of the swim move as well.

Top programs such as LSU, Ohio State and USC have been enamored of the talented Illinois product for some time now, but Beckner has made it clear he's taking his time on his visits and will make the decision when he is good and ready.

"I'm just going out for me. I haven't given my final decision a lot of thought yet because there are so many schools involved," he said, via ESPN Insider's Tom VanHaaren (subscription required). "I'll probably make a decision sometime around the end of January with my family. I'll keep it quiet with family and then announce on signing day."

247Sports' Crystal Ball predictions gives Missouri the best chance of signing Beckner at 74 percent, followed by the Buckeyes at 10 percent. Then again, Beckner told VanHaaren Florida State has an advantage over some schools, as it's one of the few he's seen in person. The Seminoles' national championship in 2013 and appearance in the College Football Playoff this season probably don't hurt either.

Look for Beckner to show off his ability to dominate at the point of attack. It will be interesting to see how he fares against some of the top interior linemen in the nation and holds up against the run.

WR Tyron Johnson (No. 21 Overall, No. 2 Position)

Tyron Johnson, a 5-star wide receiver recruit, is one of six elite prospects who will use the Under Armour game as a stage for his big collegiate announcement. It's possible the Warren Easton High School product could disappoint legions of LSU Tigers fans on Jan. 2 and opt to head out of state, per The Times-Picayune's James Smith:

"

Johnson listed Oklahoma State and Texas Tech as his top two teams in advance of his decision, set to take place during the game on January 2. While many LSU fans were shocked at the news, it's important to note that Johnson goes by the beat of his own drum.

Throughout his recruitment he has named multiple programs as his leader. Johnson is respectful of media wanting to write updates on his recruitment, but has also tried to keep his true intentions to himself.

"

It would be darn shame for LSU fans, as Johnson's oven mitt-sized hands and ability to make plays downfield are somewhat reminiscent of former Tiger and current New York Giants phenom Odell Beckham Jr.

Of course, Johnson has a long way to go before he reaches the level of a Beckham Jr., but the New Orleans native should put on a show during the Under Armour game with his ball skills and athleticism. If Johnson, who racked up 87 catches for 1,433 yards and 17 touchdowns his junior year, does indeed eschew LSU in favor of the Cowboys or Red Raiders, the lucky university should consider this a lottery-worthy hit.
