Should Arsenal Keep Philippe Senderos Due to Kolo Toure's Departure?
Everton is now set to add Arsenal and Switzerland center half Philippe Senderos. The Swiss defender, who went on loan to AC Milan for 2008/2009, is set to join the Merseyside due to Joleon Lescott likely to depart.
The 24 year old joined Arsenal from Swiss side Servette in 2003 but his future has been under concern since he returned from his stint in Italy. Senderos was hoping for a Milan stay but the clubs were unable to come to an agreement.
Senderos has very useful and imposing height and is very aggressive in the air. His stature means he is a huge threat defending and attacking set pieces. Sander's also has experience under his belt and is now coming into the stage were his best form is becoming evident.

Plus, with veteran defender Kolo Toure, departing Arsenal for Manchester City, Arsene Wenger maybe should consider having Senderos around. Arsenal currently has six center halves to choose from (including Senderos), William Gallas, Johan Djourou, Thomas Vermaelen, Alexandre Song, and Mikael Silvestre. William Gallas and Johan Djourou are probably the first choice central defenders. Thomas Vermaelen will undoubtedly stake his claim, but many feel he needs a few weeks to adapt to the English game. Alexandre Song is slowly making the change from central midfielder to defender, and Mikael Silvestre is too old and unreliable.
Keeping Senderos will enable Wenger to have a reliable, solid, experienced center half when injuries or suspension kick in. If Senderos is kept by Wenger and the 6'3" defender fails to impact anything, he can easily depart in January.
So should Arsene Wenger allow Philippe Senderos to move to David Moyes's Everton or is it worth having the big Swiss at the Emirates.
