Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Assigned 5 Bodyguards for FIFA Club World Cup
Cristiano Ronaldo will have five full-time bodyguards watching his every move when Real Madrid head to the FIFA Club World Cup in Morocco on Dec. 14.
The Portuguese icon's allocation is part of a 40-strong security team that will look after Los Blancos' players during the trip to North Africa, as reported by Eurosport. Carlo Ancelotti's men are expected to return to Spain with the trophy secured but will take strong measures to ensure business progresses as usual.
Ronaldo has faced multiple pitch invasions this season. Although humorous to see an impostor pretend to be CR7 during pre-season, each breach of the pitch's security has the potential to be dangerous to Ronaldo or anyone else.

The former Manchester United man generally deals with invaders in a calm manner, particularly when children sprint toward his position, as noted by Live Football and Eurosport:

Risks cannot afford to be taken when the 2013 Ballon d'Or winner and his team-mates are in town, however. In November, Basel were charged by UEFA after a number of supporters approached Ronaldo and members of Madrid's lineup during their Champions League tie, per Goal.com.
Ronaldo has netted an incredible 23 goals in 13 La Liga appearances this season, not to mention four in five European outings, per WhoScored.com. He is currently favourite to retain his Ballon d'Or trophy ahead of Lionel Messi and Manuel Neuer, noted by Oddschecker.com.

It's rare that Ronaldo and Co. travel to Rabat and Marrakech, so it's understandable to see hefty measures put in place. During the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, Ronaldo was reported to have four of Portugal's six team bodyguards at his disposal.
Madrid enter the competition on a club-record run of 18 consecutive wins, as noted by FIFA.com. Lesser known teams Cruz Azul (Mexico), ES Setif (Algeria), Western Sydney Wanderers (Australia), Auckland City FC (New Zealand) and San Lorenzo (Paraguay) have earned the right to take part after winning their federation's main club competition. Moroccan side Moghreb Tetouan will also line up to represent the host nation.
Colombian defender Mario Yepes, captain of San Lorenzo, commented on expectations for Madrid: "They’re the best team in the world today," said the veteran, per FIFA.com. "They showed that in the Champions League and this season they've carried on where they left off last year."

Ronaldo will be expected to add a handful of goals to his seasonal tally in what should be a fairly comfortable tournament for the Bernabeu side.
It's likely his quintet of bodyguards will offer the closest defence he sees all competition, allowing Madrid to relax into a thrilling and fast-paced game in front of the Moroccan crowd.
