Sunday Update

Manchester City recorded a convincing 3-0 win over Southampton to leap over the Saints in the Premier League standings, putting the pressure on league-leaders Chelsea going into the busy month of December.
Second-half goals from Yaya Toure, Frank Lampard and Gael Clichy decided an entertaining fixture, which saw the Citizens play with 10 men for the final 15 minutes after Eliaquim Mangala was dismissed for his second bookable offence.
The match started with controversy as Sergio Aguero was booked for diving inside the penalty box on his 100th appearance for the club. Replays confirmed the Argentina international was clearly fouled, and BBC Sport's Phil McNulty couldn't believe referee Mike Jones would make such a dreadful call:
The Citizens had most of the ball and the chances in the first half, but some sloppy finishing and strong defending by the hosts made sure the score remained 0-0 going into half-time.
The Saints started the second half brightly, and just as it looked like they might shock the defending champions, Toure lined up a shot from outside the box which took a deflection off Toby Alderweireld and ended up in the back of the net.
Lampard and Clichy added late goals on two perfectly executed counter attacks, putting the final score on the board. Via Football365's Daniel Storey, the big win was sorely needed for the visitors:
The results have been positive for City over the course of the past several weeks, but close wins often failed to convince fans and pundits Manuel Pellegrini's squad was starting to hit its stride.
A dominant win over one of the most in-form teams in the country should change that, and give the Citizens a much-needed boost heading into the holiday season, traditionally the busiest part of the Premier League calendar.
Lampard had another strong outing, opening up speculation regarding an extension of his loan deal. When asked, Pellegrini refused to rule anything out, leading to this hilarious conversation, via The Independent's Sam Wallace:
Tottenham Hotspur came back from an early deficit to record a 2-1 win over Everton, closing out Week 13 of Premier League action.
Kevin Mirallas gave the visitors the lead after 15 minutes, but it took Christian Eriksen just six minutes to bring his team on level terms, reacting quickest to a spilled shot from Harry Kane and finishing with a nifty chip.
The 22-year-old has been quite prolific in this calendar year, as shared by OptaJoe:
Roberto Soldado then scored his first goal since March to put the hosts up 2-1, leading to much hilarity on social media. Who Ate All The Pies couldn't help himself:
Everton controlled the ball in the second half but failed to translate possession to many chances, and ultimately, the hosts easily held on for the win.
With the result, Tottenham move within one point of the final European slot and two of fourth-placed Manchester United, as the battle for the tickets to the international competitions is quickly turning into one for the ages.
Saturday Update

Danny Welbeck scored the only goal in Arsenal's 1-0 win over West Bromwich Albion, giving the Gunners a much-needed win, with manager Arsene Wenger facing a lot of criticism in recent weeks.
Some of the visiting fans came to the match with a banner that called on the French manager to step down, and as shared by Metro, Wenger refused to talk about it:
Defensively, the Gunners have looked shaky at times in the 2014-15 season, but on Saturday, the back four looked solid. Saido Berahino hit the cross bar with a powerful header inside the final 10 minutes, the best chance the hosts had to salvage a point.
Arsenal dominated proceedings early and deservedly took the lead through Welbeck, who headed home after a fantastic cross from Santi Cazorla. The England international emphasised his team's defensive performance and not his goal after the match, however, via the Premier League's official Twitter feed:
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Kieran Gibbs and Nacho Monreal all picked up knocks during Saturday's fixture, and more tests will make clear how serious their injuries are.
Footballer-turned-pundit Jan Aage Fjortoft remains impressed with Wenger's ability to win matches when he needs it the most:
Manchester United easily handled Hull City at home, winning 3-0 and gaining ground on the duo of Southampton and Manchester City in the process. Sitting second and third in the standings, the two will go head-to-head on Sunday, allowing the Red Devils to shorten the gap between themselves and at least one of their rivals.
Chris Smalling, Wayne Rooney and Robin van Persie scored the goals for the hosts, who cruised to an easy win. Manchester Evening News' Rob Dawson saw the same thing, although he did worry about Rooney's health after the forward took a nasty fall late in the match:
Liverpool collected three important points at home against Stoke City, beating the Potters 1-0. Much-maligned full-back Glen Johnson scored the only goal late in the match, and Squawka couldn't help themselves:
Three consecutive defeats had the Reds desperate for a win, and while the visitors had the better chances in the second half, the Liverpool faithful didn't care one bit when the final whistle blew.
Manager Brendan Rodgers came out with a revised squad, and Manchester United legend Robbie Savage thinks the Northern Irishman deserves credit for shaking things up and coming through with the result:
League-leaders Chelsea couldn't find a way past a resilient Sunderland squad in Saturday's late match, as the Blues played out a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light. With the numbers two and three in the standings going head-to-head on Sunday, this was a missed opportunity for Jose Mourinho and his men to put more distance between themselves and the pack.
Aaron Cresswell scored the only goal in West Ham United's 1-0 win over Newcastle United, while Queens Park Rangers came from behind to beat Leicester City 3-2. Saturday's remaining two fixtures ended in 1-1 draws.
Week 13 will conclude with a tantalising double-header on Sunday, as Southampton will host Manchester City before Everton travel to north London to play Tottenham Hotspur.
