College Football Scores 2014: Week 11 Results and Top Stars for Top 25 Teams
It was billed as Separation Saturday, and two national powerhouses saw their College Football Playoff hopes all but smashed before the late games began.
The No. 3 Auburn Tigers fumbled away their shot at home with two crucial fourth-quarter turnovers. The miscues sealed a 41-38 defeat to the Texas A&M Aggies on Saturday.
Auburn came out flat from the beginning. It fell behind by as many as 18 points but battled back and had a chance with under four minutes left in the game.
With a chance to take the lead, Auburn botched a handoff from quarterback Nick Marshall to Cameron Artis-Payne. The mishandle led to a fumble inside the Aggies' 5-yard line.
After an official review, the Aggies were awarded possession of the ball.
Texas A&M couldn't get any breathing room on the ensuing possession and narrowly escaped a safety before punting the football away.
Auburn took over with 1:28 remaining in the game, but a miscommunication between Marshall and center Reese Dimukes caused another fumble. The Aggies again recovered, and that killed any chance the Tigers had.
With two losses, the Tigers' chances of playing for a national championship are likely over. The two defeats are bad, but the fact that the second one came at home against a team that hadn't played well of late makes things worse.
The Aggies had lost three games in a row before an unimpressive 28-16 win over Louisiana Monroe in Week 10.
Irish Eyes Are Crying

The No. 10 Notre Dame Fighting Irish also took the dreaded second loss on Saturday. Golston threw four interceptions—two of them were returned for scores—and the Irish fell to No. 9 Arizona State 55-31.
Notre Dame attempted a comeback of their own after trailing 34-10 at the half. The Irish closed to within three points, but a five-play, 75-yard scoring drive and a pick-six by Lloyd Carrington put things away.

Top Stars
Cameron Artis-Payne, Auburn Tigers, 30 carries, 221 yards and two TDs
It came in a losing effort, but the SEC's leading rusher did his part for the Auburn Tigers on Saturday. He eclipsed the 200-yard mark for the first time this season and had more than one rushing score for the second time.
I'm sure his huge statistical performance isn't much of a comfort with his team sitting outside the CFP picture.
Johnathan Gray, Texas Longhorns, 10 carries, 101 yards and three TDs

Coming out of high school in 2012, Gray was one of the most exciting backs I'd seen in a while. He hasn't quite produced the type of college career I'd expected up to this point.
The junior showed flashes of the game-breaking ability that made him such a dynamic prospect.
He needed just 10 carries to get 100 yards on the ground, and three scores in a 33-16 upset win over the No. 23 West Virginia Mountaineers.
We'll see if he can build off this great performance.
Jordan Wilkins, Ole Miss Rebels, 10 carries, 171 yards and one TD
Gray wasn't the only back to do a ton of damage with just 10 carries. Wilkins found the end zone only once, but he did break off a huge 73-yard run that was part of Ole Miss' lopsided 58-0 win over Presbyterian.
Corey Coleman, Baylor Bears, 15 receptions, 224 yards and one TD

The high-powered Baylor Bears offense was spearheaded by Coleman. His 15-catch performance marked the second time this season he's had at least 10 receptions in a game. The 224 yards were a career high for Coleman.
The Oklahoma Sooners defense had no answer for him or any part of Baylor's attack in the 48-14 rout.
Hutson Mason, 13-of-16, 174 yards and four TDs
Efficiency is the theme here. The Georgia Bulldogs quarterback didn't throw a lot of passes against the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday, but he made his attempts count.
He had more touchdown passes than incompletions in leading the Bulldogs to a 63-31 win. It was a nice way to rebound from the disappointing loss to the Florida Gators last week.
