Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
ROUND 3 MOCK DRAFT RESULTS
3.01 RB Ryan Grant (GB)—Grant didn’t have as good of a year last year as he did in 2007, but the fact that he’s still the featured back without a true handcuff gives him good fantasy value. If the Green Bay Packers’ passing game is strong again this year, Grant should have some room to run.
3.02 WR Roddy White (ATL)—One of the biggest up-and-coming receivers right now in the NFL, White is the top WR in the Atlanta Falcons newly-explosive offense. As long as Matt Ryan doesn’t suffer any sort of sophomore jinx, White should post big numbers once again.
3.03 WR Reggie Wayne (IND)—Gone is Marvin Harrison, which means Peyton Manning’s new best friend is Wayne. Look for Wayne and Manning to continue to be a formidable duo in 2009.
3.04 WR Steve Smith (CAR)—Everybody has been talking about the Carolina Panthers' running attack, but don’t forget about Smith, who is always capable of catching a 60-yard bomb for a touchdown and is one of the best all-around receivers in the game.
3.05 WR Greg Jennings (GB)—Having been satisfied with a new long-term contract, the sky is the limit for Jennings, who is the top target in a very potent passing attack. Look for Jennings to see more redzone looks this year like he did back in 2007.
3.06 QB Peyton Manning (IND)—Still one of the best quarterbacks in the league, Manning has a number of weapons to throw to—Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark and the emerging Anthony Gonzalez.
3.07 RB Ronnie Brown (MIA)—The man who put the Wildcat offense in the spotlight, Brown very well may turn the once 50-50 tandem of he and Ricky Williams into more of a one-man show.
3.08 RB Kevin Smith (DET)—His season totals can look deceiving, but the way Smith came on late in the season last year gives him a lot of potential in 2009. Considering the team that he plays for and his sub-par first half of 2008, Smith is one of the most overlooked and undervalued players this season.
3.09 RB Pierre Thomas (NO)—Thomas will be running through the tackles for the New Orleans Saints this year. Having Reggie Bush in the backfield will only help Thomas, as the Saints will try to spread the field as much as possible.
3.10 WR Marques Colston (NO)—Colston has 2008’s best fantasy QB throwing to him in Drew Brees. That should be reason enough to draft this guy. The only drawback with taking Colston is the fact that Brees loves to get all of his receivers involved.
