La Liga's Week 6 fixtures will see champions Atletico Madrid face a tough test from a capable Sevilla side. Meanwhile, city rivals Real are sure to be tested at the Madrigal by Villarreal.

Elsewhere, expect early pace-setters FC Barcelona to maintain their early-season dominance. Luis Enrique's team is already leaving the Madrid heavyweights with little to no margin for error every week.

It's no surprise that Real will play out the week's most entertaining match at the Madrigal. Los Blancos manager Carlo Ancelotti is trusting a team littered with forward-thinking players.

The natural result is a squad that can score goals as if the concept is going out of fashion. Los Merengues have netted 13 goals in their last two league matches, including the recent 8-2 away win over Deportivo La Coruna.

Of course, the consequence of such an open team can be problems at the back. However, Ancelotti remains confident his loaded attack can help his squad exceed last season, per the club's official Twitter feed:

Villarreal aren't quite the exciting team they were a decade ago, or even half that time ago for that matter. But the Yellow Submarine can still craft some threatening attacking football and are always dangerous at home.

It's worth counting on a lot of goals between these two, with Real's greater firepower proving decisive.

Key Players

Luka Modric, Real Madrid

Nowhere is Madrid's attacking imbalance more obvious than in midfield. Ancelotti is willing to forgo rugged power in favour of players embodying technique and flair.

One of his most gifted pass-masters is Croatia international Luka Modric. He's the closest thing to a deep-lying midfielder Real possess.

It's not a role natural to the 29-year-old, but one he has taken to well. The former Tottenham Hotspur star has become a vital link player, stitching the defensive, midfield and forward lines together with his clever passing.

Modric's quick distribution helps Madrid transition between defence and attack in the blink of an eye. With so much pace ahead of him, in the form of Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, Modric's ability to launch deep passes will cause havoc among the Villarreal defence.

Stephane M'Bia, Sevilla

Towering Cameroon international Stephane M'Bia will have a key role to play for Sevilla against reigning champions Atletico. The 29-year-old can help Sevilla counter Atletico's power in midfield.

Atleti pack their midfield with uncompromising tacklers, savvy defensive-minded veterans and tough scrappers. In particular, Tiago and captain Gabi Fernandez give manager Diego Simeone's team the platform to stay defensively resolute, as well as the potential to break and snatch decisive goals.

That's the usual formula for Simeone's group. When those goals come, they often come via the route of set-pieces as Squawka football noted:

Centre-backs Miranda and Diego Godin are lethal when attacking expert delivery from dead-ball situations. A player with M'Bia's height, leaping ability and combative instincts can be a great counter to that prolific pair.

But it will be just as important for M'Bia to help Sevilla wrest possession away from Atletico at the Vincente Calderon stadium. If Sevilla's midfield can exert some control of its own, crafty striker Carlos Bacca will get the chance to shock Atleti.

A frustrating draw for the champions at home will be one of the biggest shocks of Week 6. They'll be no such surprise when Barca and Real assert their early-season credentials to take the title away from Atletico.
