As reported by Antony Kastrinakis of The Sun (subscription required) and via Sam Adams of the Mirror, the experienced Brazilian highlights the Premier League leaders as a source of interest with just over a month until the market opens once again:
"I know there is interest from Premier League clubs," Diego said. "I have heard one of them is Arsenal."

Southampton and Atletico Madrid are also said to be considering a move for the 28-year-old, who has enjoyed something of a journeyman career since 2002.
Startling life as a youngster at Santos, Diego has since played for Porto, Werder Bremen, Juventus and current club Wolfsburg, who loaned him to Atletico Madrid during the 2011-12 season.
He captured Europa League glory with the Spanish club that year and has a duo of Copa America wins with Brazil. Alongside this, he has won silverware at Santos, Porto and Wolfsburg, highlighting his credentials with a successful run across the globe.
Diego is a ball-playing midfielder whose vision and set-piece prowess define his game. While lacking major strength and pace, he is the type of individual who would fit right into the setups of Arsenal or Southampton with intelligent passing, powerful long shots and a willingness to take control of possession.
He has scored one goal and provided two assists in 12 Bundesliga appearances this season, according to WhoScored.com.
While Arsenal fans may be excited for the potential move, Arsene Wenger would have to seriously consider whether he needs to bolster his squad with this type of player.
The Gunners possess similar qualities in Mesut Ozil, Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Tomas Rosicky and Jack Wilshere, suggesting additional muscle should be outlined as the North London club's priority.
For Southampton, the capture of Diego would add to the ever-improving reputation of Mauricio Pochettino's team, who recently landed impressive signings such as Gaston Ramirez, Victor Wanyama and Pablo Osvaldo.
