And with such history comes great moments and goals.

Enjoy.
20. Brazilian Ronaldo vs. Barcelona
1 of 20The arrival of the Brazilian Ronaldo at Real Madrid in 2002 didn't quite signal the success it was supposed to, but that didn't take away from the joy of watching him.
This goal at Camp Nou in 2006 symbolises everything great about him.
He shows pace to get behind the defence, strength to hold off Carles Puyol and the ability to finish with a cheeky dink.
Ronaldinho had opened the scoring; the match finished 1-1.
19. Sanchez Helps Madrid to First Supercopa
2 of 20The Supercopa as we know it today wasn't introduced until 1982, with Real Madrid not winning it until 1988.
When they did win it, they beat Barcelona in the final.
Mexican scoring machine Hugo Sanchez added the second in a 2-0 win at the Bernabeu in the first leg.
His volley proved decisive too, as Barca won the second leg 2-1.
18. Puskas Wins Copa on His Own
3 of 20A brace from Ferenc Puskas helped Real Madrid to a 2-1 win over Sevilla in the Spanish Cup final in 1962.
With footage of that final taken off the Internet, instead you can enjoy this homage to Madrid's famous Hungarian.
17. Zamarano Completes Revenge
4 of 20Having been thumped 5-0 the previous year by Barcelona's "dream team," Real Madrid's win by the same scoreline over the Catalans in 1995 was particularly sweet.
Ivan Zamorano stole the headlines with a hat-trick, but it was the assist from Michael Laudrup, who had deserted the dream team, that really made Madrid smile.
16. Copa del Rey 2011
5 of 20Jose Mourinho's first big moment against Pep Guardiola as Real Madrid boss came in the 2011 Copa del Rey final.
And, as ever, he had Cristiano Ronaldo to thank for it.
The Portuguese forward headed in an extra-time winner as Los Blancos prevailed 1-0.
15. McManaman in the Champions League
6 of 20Champions League semi-finals are always big occasions, so imagine how big it is when you meet your fierce rivals at that stage.
That was the scenario presented to Real Madrid and Barcelona in 2002.
The first leg was at Camp Nou and, with Madrid already leading 1-0, Steve McManaman popped up in stoppage time to score this delightful chip.
Back at the Bernabeu, Barcelona couldn't overturn the defecit.
14. Raul in the Champions League Final
7 of 20Raul added the third goal as Real Madrid beat fellow Spaniards Valencia 3-0 in the Champions League final in 2000.
The victory in Paris was Los Blancos' eighth European Cup success, and the goal was Raul's 10th of the competition that season.
13. Cristiano Ronaldo: Calma
8 of 20The most important goal of Real Madrid's recent history is arguably Cristiano Ronaldo's winner at Camp Nou in 2012.
It all but ended Barcelona's title challenge, wrapping up No. 1 spot for Madrid in the process.
The celebration was quite iconic too.
12. Sanchez Golazo
9 of 20You can imagine the kids around Madrid practicing overhead kicks after witnessing this Hugo Sanchez screamer against Logrones in 1988.
11. Raul vs. Atletico
10 of 20Wonder goal from Raul against Atletico Madrid,ย the club he represented as a boy, in 1996/97.
10. Santillana vs. Koln
11 of 20Real Madrid's successful team of the 1980s might not have won the European Cup, but they did win two UEFA Cups in the middle of the decade.
The second came against Koln in 1986, with Los Blancos winning 5-3 over two legs.
This Santillana goal, which involves him dribbling with his head, came in the first leg and was voted inside Madrid's top 10 historic goals.
9. Amancio in the European Cup
12 of 20After winning the first five European Cups, Real Madrid had not won the competition since 1960, when they met Partizan Belgrade in the 1966 final in Brussels.
Trailing 1-0 with 20 minutes to go, it looked like they would have to wait for No. 6.
Amancio Amaro popped up with an equaliser, though, before Fernando Serena won it for Los Blancos.
8. Raul vs. Vasco
13 of 20It was the final of the 1998 Intercontinental Cup, and Real Madrid and Vasco de Gama were locked at 1-1 with extra time approaching.
Then Raul did this.
Collecting a long ball over the top, he takes two defenders out of the game before finishing past the goalkeeper.
7. Butragueno vs. Cadiz
14 of 20Real Madrid's side of the 1980s was defined by "La Quinta del Buitre"โfive players who had come through the club's youth system.
Among them was striker Emilio Butragueno.
His most famous goal was this effort against Cadiz in the Copa del Rey, where he twists his way to the byline before taking it around the goalkeeper when it seemed impossible.
6. Gento in Extra Time
15 of 20Real Madrid's third European title came in 1958 when they beat Italian giants AC Milan in the final in Brussels.
It wasn't straightforward, though.
With the score level at 2-2 after normal time, the final went to extra time.
The outcome was to be the same as the first two editions of the competition, however: a Los Blancos win.
Francisco Gento scored the pivotal goal.
5. Raul Silences Camp Nou
16 of 20If Raul hadn't already done enough to endear himself to the Real Madrid faithful, then after this goal and celebration he certainly had.
He gave Los Blancos the lead at Camp Nou in October 1999 with this chipped finish.
It was his celebration, whereby he signaled "shhhhhh" to the home fans, which has gone down in memory.
Barca hit back to lead 2-1, although Raul had the last laugh again when he headed in a late equaliser.
4. Mijatovic's Crowning Moment
17 of 20Real Madrid ended a 32-year wait to win the European Cup again when they beat Juventus in the final in 1998.
Predrag Mijatovic scored the only goal of the game.
3. Di Stefano Strike
18 of 20This memorable strike from Alfredo di Stefano came in Real Madrid's 7-3 win over Frankfurt in the final of the European Cup at Hampden Park in 1960.
It was Los Blancos' fifth successive European title.
Di Stefano's goal is born off the back of some lovely passing from the Spanish side.
Ferenc Puskas scored four in the win; Di Stefano netted three.
2. First European Cup Success
19 of 20Who knows, if Hector Rial had never scored this goal then Real Madrid's love story with the European Cup may not have developed in the same way.
Fortunately for Los Blancos, though, he did score this goal.
They'd trailed 2-0 and 3-2 in Paris against Stade Reims, before eventually coming back to be crowned champions of the first-ever European Cup in 1956.
Rial's winner, which came late in the second half, was his second of the final.
1. That Zidane Goal
