Analysing Sergio Aguero's Performance vs. Tottenham
The Premier League's leading goal scorer, Sergio Aguero was sensational for Manchester City against a flat Tottenham Hotspur squad on Sunday, helping power the high-scoring Citizens to a 6-0 win at Etihad Stadium.
Aguero netted two goals (41st and 50th minute) in the victory and was aggressive throughout before finally coming off in the 69th minute.
Here's a look at Aguero's first goal, which put City ahead 3-0 heading into the dressing room at halftime (per B/R UK):

But although Aguero made the most of his opportunities on Sunday, the story of the match was City's remarkable team performance. All 11 men were in sync from the start and it showed as Jesus Navas opened up the scoring 13 seconds into the match.
Navas would assist on Aguero's first goal before putting the finishing touches on City's win in stoppage time.
Prior to Navas' go-ahead strike, though, it was Aguero firing the first shot on goal just moments after kickoff. Therefore, it's certainly fair to say that Aguero helped set the tone for the match on Sunday.
The 25-year-old forward wasn't the most accurate of passers in the rout—connecting on 67 percent—but that would be nitpicking. In the end, Aguero's phenomenal striking and production is what stands out. He was ultra-effective with his 42 total touches, putting all five of his shot attempts on target and scoring on 40 percent of his chances (per WhoScored.com).
What's more, Aguero's electrifying performance came against one of the league's better defensive clubs. Prior to Sunday, Spurs had only allowed six goals total through their first 11 EPL matches.
You can't ask for much more than that from your go-to striker against a quality defensive unit.
After putting two past Hugo Lloris on Sunday, Aguero now has 10 goals in 11 EPL appearances for City this season. And if the Argentine star can maintain his current form he'll have an excellent opportunity to win the league scoring title at season's end.
