France vs. South Africa Rugby 2013: Date, Time, Live Stream, TV Info and Preview

Tom SunderlandJun 7, 2018

France and South Africa bring their autumn series to a close this weekend in what promises to be a blockbuster curtain call, with two of the world's biggest teams set to do battle at the Stade de France.

While the Springboks are unbeaten in their November trials, France were unfortunate to open their international account against New Zealand this month, the All Blacks beating Les Bleus by just a converted try.

With that kind of form coming into the clash, Paris is set to stage one of the biggest international fixtures this year.

Centenary Celebrations

France and South Africa first met all the way back on Jan. 11, 1913, per RugbyData.com, making this the 100th anniversary of the year in which two titans of rugby began their epic head-to-head.

Since then, the nations have collided on 38 occasions, South Africa triumphing in 21 of those games while France have won just 11, with six draws thrown in for good measure.

If fate is smiling kindly on Saturday's combatants and all those watching, the centenary should make for an even more special event, hopefully bringing impact, entertainment and a heap of world-class talent along with it.

France Player to Watch: Brice Dulin

Brice Dulin has been Phillipe Saint-Andre's full-back of choice in recent weeks and the Castres utility man is doing a solid job in the No. 15 jersey of the national team.

Keeping several other claimants at bay as a result of his performances, last week saw Dulin carry for 68 metres against the Tongan defence, scoring a well-taken try and beating a joint match-high of five defenders, per ESPN.

That being said, the Springboks will be a completely different challenge in the backs and there's a number of seriously talented playmakers who can make it a torrid time for the Frenchman if he's at anything but his best.

South Africa Player to Watch: Willie Le Roux

South Africa's Willie Le Roux is one of those playmakers who can run riot if given the right ball this weekend. Last week saw the 24-year-old rip Scotland's defence to pieces in Edinburgh, grabbing a try and an assist in the same five-minute window of play.

Whether it's with ball in hand or creating for others with the boot, Le Roux's consistency in creating space around him is something to be admired and is a weapon Heyneke Meyer will want to use regularly now that Zane Kirchner is no longer at full-back.

One of the brightest stars of the Springboks' November period, the 24-year-old will look to cap his month off in style with another darting display in the French capital.
