BCS Bowl Predictions 2013: Reassessing Matchups After Week 12
USC shuffled 2013 BCS bowl predictions on Saturday when it beat No. 4 Stanford by the score of 20-17.
The once-Rose Bowl-bound Cardinal is no longer en route to a Pac-12 title.
Here are updated BCS bowl projections after the conference shake-up.
| Game | Team | Team |
| National Championship | Alabama | Florida State |
| Rose Bowl | Oregon | Ohio State |
| Orange Bowl | Clemson | Wisconsin |
| Sugar Bowl | Auburn | UCF |
| Fiesta Bowl | Baylor | Fresno State |
BCS National Championship: Alabama vs. Florida State
Then-4-5 Mississippi State proved that Alabama isn't perfect in the Crimson Tide's mere 13-point victory this weekend, while Florida State won its second straight ACC showdown by the score of 59-3.
The Seminoles are overwhelming their opponents by an average of 41.6 points per game (compared to just 28.6 for Alabama). They not only are winning with more style points than the Crimson Tide, but also boast the matchup's most dominant player—Heisman hopeful freshman quarterback Jameis Winston and his 2,938 yards and 28 touchdowns through the air.
The Seminoles are an extremely talented No. 1 contender, but it's difficult to bet against a reigning champ that hasn't lost a must-win game since Nov. 26, 2010. Nick Saban is also 4-0 in national titles.

Orange Bowl: Clemson vs. Wisconsin
The intrigue in this matchup will be in the teams' contrasting styles. Clemson fields an explosive passing offense and mediocre defense while Wisconsin wants to run the ball down its opponent's throat and boasts a top defense.
Neither ballclub has had much bowl-game success in recent years, combining for a record of 1-5 in the past three. Tigers senior quarterback Tajh Boyd will be the difference. He's accumulated nearly 3,200 yards from scrimmage this season and 32 touchdowns.
Badgers sophomore passer Joel Stave has thrown more interceptions than Boyd (eight to seven) despite throwing for over 1,000 fewer yards and eight fewer touchdowns.

Rose Bowl: Oregon vs. Ohio State
Stanford's letdown will likely earn Oregon a Pac-12 title, but the Ducks will also likely face a much more talented BCS opponent as a result. Instead of competing against Fresno State or UCF—teams that they would've been heavily favored against—they'll be slight underdogs against Ohio State.
If the Buckeyes win out, they'll ride a winning streak longer than Alabama's into the postseason. And while—like the Crimson Tide—Ohio State is slightly less flashy than its opponent, the difference—again—will be coaching. Urban Meyer is 4-0 in BCS bowls.
Ohio State by 3
Fiesta Bowl: Baylor vs. Fresno State
This matchup will be thrilling for the first three quarters. Baylor scores an average of 61.2 points per game and Fresno State 44.3.
Each team's offense is explosive, but the Bears defense will be the difference—or the Bulldogs' lack thereof. While Baylor only allows 17.4 points per game, Fresno State surrenders 26.9—most of which has come against Mountain West competition that pales in comparison to that of the Bears' Big 12.
Baylor will pull away in the fourth quarter.

Sugar Bowl: Auburn vs. UCF
Temple has a record of 1-9 this season. UCF barely beat the Owls, sneaking past them by the score of 39-36 on Saturday.
The Knights are a solid football team, but solid football teams don't fare well in BCS bowls against SEC powerhouses. That's what Auburn is.
The Tigers have four wins against ranked opponents this season. UCF has one. Auburn's mediocre No. 28-ranked defense will be the only factor that would keep this one semi-close.
