Wales vs. Argentina Rugby 2013: Prediction, Preview and Key Players
Both in a losing patch of form, Wales and Argentina face off at the Millennium Stadium this weekend hoping to turn recent performances around.
Wales' November series didn't get off to the start that Warren Gatland would have liked to see last weekend, his side eventually outshone by Heyenke Meyer's South Africa.
Argentina, meanwhile, could not muster the second-half comeback that at one point looked so viable against England but will have taken some encouraging lessons from their trip to Twickenham.
Read on for a preview of just who you'll want to keep an eye on in this encounter, as well as a score prediction for who's set to come out on top.
Date: Saturday, Nov. 16
Time: 2:30 p.m. local time (GMT)/9:30 a.m. ET
Venue: Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
Wales One to Watch: Cory Allen
Although making his Test debut this weekend, Cory Allen is one who's been tipped for bigger things by some for a while and is now receiving his chance in international colours.
Cardiff-based Simon Thomas has spoken highly of the Cardiff Blues starlet:
Gatland is no stranger to handing youngsters their chances during the autumn internationals and rightly so. Allen has impressed in his first professional season playing in the nation's capital and will meet Marcelo Bosch this weekend in what promises to be a stern trial of his abilities.
Given that it's his first senior involvement in the national team, there perhaps shouldn't be too much expected of Allen at outside centre, but the 20-year-old deserves some extra attention for what glimpses of potential are displayed nonetheless.
Argentina One to Watch: Juan Manuel Leguizamon
There weren't too many reasons to be overjoyed during Argentina's Rugby Championship tournament, but Juan Manuel Leguizamon often gave the South Americans cause to be hopeful.
The No. 8 went through a brief period of prolific form and managed to score three tries during the competition, and was once again impressive for periods of his outing against England last week.
At the Millennium Stadium, the bruising Lyon forward will once again need to be a leading figure against a very talented and experienced Welsh pack.
From the back of the scrum, Leguizamon will control a lot of what goes on at the set piece, which has been an encouraging aspect of Argentina's game lately.
Aside from that, though, the Pumas veteran will look once again to assert himself opposite Toby Faletau and cause some trouble for the hosts' defence.
Prediction: Wales 38-25 Argentina
