Predictions
Group E: Raymond van Barneveld and Tony O'Shea to win
With two victories to his name, Raymond van Barneveld is the favourite to progress from Group E in top spot. However, he will face Mervyn King, who hit form to average 101.81 in victory over Ricky Evans.
A win for Barney would make Tony O'Shea favourite to pip King to the second qualifying spot, although Evans is not out of contention yet. O'Shea, though, is the higher ranked of the pair and has shown excellent form thus far.
Group F: Justin Pipe and Andy Hamilton to win
With Mark Walsh already eliminated, having won just one leg in the tournament, countryman Justin Pipe has a great chance of securing victory and a place in the second stage.
Andy Hamilton, whom Pipe defeated in the first round, returned to form in victory over Walsh and is higher ranked than opponent Robert Thornton. The Scot, though, was untroubled in his beating of Pipe to sit top of the group.
Group G: Mark Webster and Simon Whitlock to win
The third group in action should be one of the easiest to call, with both Wales' Mark Webster and Australia's Simon Whitlock expected to progress with ease.
Both enjoyed comfortable first-round wins before Whitlock blew Webster away with a phenomenal second-round showing. Ross Smith and Wes Newton, both averaging scores of around 90 for the tournament, should be little trouble.
Group H: Scott Waites and Ted Hankey to win
Third seed Scott Waites is already assured of his place in the next stage but will be determined to finish the round-robin with a bang against Dave Chisnall—a surprise loser against the experienced Ted Hankey in Round 2 and now eliminated.
Hankey, then, is the favourite to take the final qualification place ahead of youth world champion Michael Smith, who was easily dismissed by Waites and concedes 20 years in experience to the Stoke-On-Trent man.
