Miami Dolphins Enter 2009 Like a Wildcat
The Miami Dolphins quite possibly had the biggest turn around of any team in NFL history.
After going a mediocre 1-15 just two seasons ago, Bill Parcells had decided to do a complete overhaul of the team. Former Head Coach, Cam Cameron was done after one season after going through three different Quarterbacks and being unable to get the job done on offense. C
Cleo Lemon, John Beck, and former elite Minnesota Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper were mediocre at best. Once the Dolphins selected offensive tackle Jake Long with the number one pick. It was only a matter of time before the pieces of the puzzle would finally come together.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
I originally though that the Dolphins were making a mistake signing former Jets quarterback Chad Pennington. He was a shell of his former self after injuring his shoulder again two seasons ago.
Also by getting rid of Jason Taylor, (who now has come back to the Dolphins) I wondered if Miami's defense would lose a great leader on their defense. Granted they signed Joey Porter to that mega contract, but every NFL team needs a quality defensive end and the Dolphins clearly did not have one.
Boy was I wrong.
Pennington and the almost bust Ronnie Brown and often troubled running back Ricky Williams worked very well together. Because of the originality of Sparano's patented Wildcat offense, the Dolphins overtook the legendary Brett Favre and his Jets on the last day of the season and won the division with an 11-5 record. Bill Parcells looked like his usual genius self turning bad teams around, even with the questionable moves that surfaced at the beginning of the season.
The way I see it this season, the Dolphins are the team to beat in the NFC East. Not only do they have the same offensive weapons as last year, they have added West Virginia quarterback Pat White who can easily fit into the Wildcat scheme. If Sparano, White, and Brown perfect the Wildcat offense this season; they will be a force to be reckoned with across the NFL.
A trip to the playoffs for the Pats, Jets, and Bills goes directly through Miami. As long as the Dolphins stay strong in the division and beat the almost unbeatable NFC Central, they will go deep into the playoffs. Watch out for Miami in 2009!
