The Belgian watched his former Lille team-mates during the 2-0 win over Monaco but was punished by Mourinho when he failed to board a Eurostar train back to London in the lead-up to the Blues’ 3-0 win over Schalke.

As reported by Sami Mokbel of the Daily Mail, Chelsea centre-back Gary Cahill believes the player and his manager are now ready to move on from the unfortunate situation:

"

They had their chat one to one and the situation is dealt with.

Eden Hazard is a terrific player and we obviously need him in the squad and available, so of course we look forward to having him back. I think the manager makes his decisions and he does not have to explain every one.

"

Branislav Ivanovic also backs the Portuguese manager’s decision to drop Hazard from the side, suggesting Chelsea’s squad has a strong enough bond to remain both supportive and honest with each other.

As reported by Matt Hughes of The Times (subscription required) and via ESPN, the Serbian defender highlights a sense of solidarity within the camp:

"

It is important for the team to accept this as a discipline. Eden will feature in the next game. It means we are serious and we are all together and I don’t think he has a problem with that.

"

The well-rested Hazard shall return to Chelsea’s side for the Premier League tie with West Brom and will look to quickly replicate the form that has seen him rack up four goals in his last five appearances, per WhoScored.com.

Hazard is part of a Stamford Bridge squad that is crammed with world-class attacking talent.

The tricky winger, who joined from Lille in 2012, will want to keep his punctuality in check as the season progresses. Getting dropped from this immensely competitive side is already easy enough, so it would be foolish to risk Mourinho’s wrath on a second occasion.

At just 22 years of age, the Belgian international can be forgiven such a simple mistake. This is arguably the biggest season of the starlet's career so far, both for Chelsea and his country, because club success could lead to added confidence when Marc Wilmots' national side head to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

If Hazard remembers his passport, that is.
