Overview
Beginning Tuesday in Mirpur, New Zealand continue what has been a relatively low-key tour of Bangladesh with three ODIs.
The two sides drew the Test series 0-0, with rain during the second Test at the same venue ruining the match as a spectacle.
The two countries are ranked closely together in the International Cricket Council’s ODI Rankings with New Zealand at No. 7 and Bangladesh at No. 9, so it should be a close series.
The tourists named a strong and experienced squad for the limited-overs matches, with 28-year-old opener Anton Devcich the only man not to have been capped at international level.
There were also recalls for seamer Adam Milne and allrounder Jimmy Neesham, while leading fast bowler Tim Southee has been included after missing the Tests following ankle surgery.
The hosts meanwhile have included fast bowler Mashrafe Mortaza in their squad for the first two matches.
The seamer has not played for his country since last year, as he suffered an ankle injury during the final of the BPL earlier in 2013.
Shafiul Islam is also a late withdrawal from the hosts squad with an ankle problem, and he has been replaced by Al-Amin Hossain.
The Black Caps are particularly keen to take victory in this series, having been on the receiving end of a 4-0 drubbing in 2010's ODI series in Bangladesh.

Key Players
Tamim Iqbal
The hard-hitting opener will again be crucial for Bangladesh if they are to be successful, as his ability to score quick runs at the top of the order will help them create a platform for large totals.
Iqbal has four ODI centuries to his name, two of which have come at home, and he will be a crucial wicket for the New Zealanders to take.
Tim Southee
After recovering from ankle surgery that forced him to miss the Test series, seam bowler Tim Southee will be raring to go as he leads the New Zealand pace attack.
The 24-year-old is the spearhead of the Black Caps bowling unit but will want to improve on an average of 71.66 in Bangladesh since first playing there in 2008.
Having recovered from his surgery and being well-rested after missing the Tests, Southee will be hoping to do just that.
Prediction
This game will probably hinge on who wins the toss, as the captain who calls correctly will likely bat first and look to build a massive total.
However, given their prowess in limited-overs cricket and despite any home advantage Bangladesh may enjoy, it is difficult to see beyond New Zealand racking up a comfortable win.
