NLCS Schedule 2013: When and Where to Catch Remaining Games

Tyler BrookeJun 8, 2018

The Los Angeles Dodgers are not in good shape in the National League Championship Series, but they still have time to turn it around against the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Cardinals have a 2-0 lead in the series, and both teams will take a one-day break as they travel to Los Angeles for the next three games.  The Dodgers have a chance to win some games at home, but the Cardinals could also advance to the World Series and celebrate on enemy territory.

Below is all of the viewing information for the remaining games, followed by a breakdown of these two exciting teams.

Los Angeles Dodgers

After scoring two runs in 13 innings on Friday, the Dodgers didn't score a single run in Game 2.

That needs to change if they want to avoid getting swept.

Yasiel Puig has been a big disappointment through the first two games.  He's gone 0-for-10 at the plate, striking out six times.  Juan Uribe has driven in the only runs in the series but is hitting .200 and has already struck out five times.

As a team, the Dodgers are batting just .184 for the series.  They were hitting .264 in the regular season, the sixth-best mark in the majors.

The two starting pitchers to play have been incredible so far.  Zack Greinke went eight innings and allowed just two runs while striking out 11 batters.  In Game 2, Clayton Kershaw went six strong innings with just two hits allowed and a run scored.

Rookie pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu will get the starting nod in Game 3, and he's had a terrific first season.  He made 30 starts in the regular season, posting a 3.00 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP while striking out 154 batters.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, they're now going to be without Kershaw for at least a couple of games.  If that offense can't get things going, then the Dodgers won't be able to use their star pitcher again.

St. Louis Cardinals

Pitching has stood out for both teams, but the Cardinals have had a couple of heroes emerge in the first two games to win both of them.

Carlos Beltran is well on his way to being the NLCS MVP if the Cardinals can advance to the World Series.  He went 2-for-6 in Game 1, with two big hits.  One was a two-RBI double in the third inning, and the other was a walk-off single in the bottom of the 13th inning.

In Game 2, it was rookie pitcher Michael Wacha.  After taking a no-hitter into the eighth inning in the NLDS, Wacha pitched 6.2 innings, allowing just five hits and zero runs, striking out eight batters.

Now, even with a two-game lead in the series, things are going to get even better for the Cardinals in Game 3.

Adam Wainwright will make his first appearance in this series, and he was fantastic against the Pittsburgh Pirates.  In his two starts, he went 16 innings and allowed just two earned runs while striking out 15 batters.

The Cardinals have been here before, recently winning the World Series in 2011 and 2006.  If they can win Game 3 with Wainwright, they will be in great shape to go to another one.
