Kansas City Needs Michael Vick
I know this has been talked about before in the Chiefs' forum, but I'm adding to it - The Chiefs should sign Michael Vick.
I've always been a Michael Vick fan, not necessarily the kind of fan I was for Scottie Pippen or Michael Jordan back in the day growing up, but a casual fan who watched Vick at Va. Tech. I marveled at what he did with the Falcons but was also acutely aware that Mike Vick as a total quarterback still had some work to do—before we found out that his obsession with man's best friend was not so friendly.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
But now that he's out and it's only a matter of time before he's reinstated, I think it would be foolish for the Chiefs not to at least consider bringing Vick to One Arrowhead Drive.
For starters, I'm not worried about Michael Vick playing QB anymore, besides, the Chiefs have a quarterback. Unless he gets hurt, Cassel is going to play, and I expect him to play well. It's likely the Chiefs will hold on to Thigpen, who is dirt cheap and is a perfect backup QB in the NFL, and who knows, maybe he'll be a starter someday—just not with the Chiefs.
So there's no worry of Vick challenging for a QB spot, which leaves him as a Wildcat QB/RB, and I'm also thinking of letting him play a little slot receiver too. Why not? Vick has absolutely no demands, will come dirt cheap, and has more to prove than any professional athlete in history.
And lets look at the Chiefs offense. They're set at QB, and that's about it.
Is Larry going to stick around? Who knows. I don't see why not, the guy has no trade value, and as Pioli said, he's under contract and on the roster. So do what Westside Connection would do, roll him til the wheels fall off.
Behind Larry? Nobody proven, but solid guys anyway. Although who knows, if Kolby Smith stays healthy and the line blocks for him, he's shown he can be effective. And I like Jamaal Charles, he represents Port Arthur, Texas, Shout out to Pimp C, he could be a surprise this year. Then there's the rookie out of Tennessee State, Javarris Williams, but who knows with him.
Moving to wide out, D-Bowe is okay as long as he can limit his drops, which after this week, doesn't sound like he's ready to do yet. There's 80-year-old Bobby Engram—nice guy but has played one full season in the last five. Mark Bradley is just a younger version of Bobby Engram, i.e. gets hurt a lot. And then... Jeff Webb?
And I didn't even mention TE, but why bother?
With all that's there, or not there, on the KC offense, I don't see how you don't take a long hard look at Vick and what he could bring to the Chiefs offfense, not to mention the spark the versatility. Even though he's not a wide out and doesn't like getting hit—but who really does?—think of what having him on the field does to a defense.
This morning I asked a friend who played in the NFL if he thought Vick could play wide out, and he said no way, his body isn't built for getting hit like that. But I'm going to go with my gut and the fact that I've never played more than high school football—but plenty of Madden—and say yes, I think he could play wide out because Vick has no choice but to get on the field any way he can.
Finally, there's Pioli and Haley, two arrogant SOBs who care about one thing only—winning. Don't give me this high character crap, if a guy can play, so what. And Vick has done his time, give him a break. Pioli is arrogant enough that he'd bring a Vick in and say, "Look what I got out of this guy when nobody else would touch him."
As for the fans, cry all you want about Vick being a bad person and threaten to give up season tickets if he were to become a Chief. What else are you gonna do on a Sunday in KC during football season?
I don't know what the chances are of it happening, but what has already been an interesting offseason for the Chiefs would become even more intense if the Chiefs signed Vick.
