MLB Playoff Schedule 2013: When, Where to Watch Remaining Division Series Action

Tyler BrookeJun 3, 2018

The Division Series are well underway, but there's still more baseball to watch as the four series continue to be played.

Thursday night featured some good games in the National League, with the Los Angeles Dodgers taking a 2-1 lead over the Atlanta Braves and the Pittsburgh Pirates taking a 2-1 lead over the St. Louis Cardinals.

Still, we likely have a number of games to continue watching in this round, so here's the schedule of the remaining games.

National League Division Series

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals

The Pittsburgh Pirates have been the Cinderella story of the MLB this year, and they're in good position to make this story last a little longer.

Francisco Liriano pitched in his second game of the playoffs and had another nice game.  He threw six solid innings, allowing three hits and two earned runs with five strikeouts in the win during Game 3.

Still, the Cardinals are very much in this series.  They have some tremendous talent on that pitching staff and with that dangerous offense.  Michael Wacha will be making his first career postseason start in Game 4 after pitching in 15 games this year with an ERA of 2.78 and a 4-1 record.

It won't be easy for the Cardinals, playing in what will be a very loud environment in Pittsburgh, but that is what will make this such an exciting game on Monday.

Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Atlanta Braves

The momentum has shifted towards the Dodgers after a big win at home.  That's not good news for Braves fans, as their backs are now against the wall.

The Dodgers will have the advantage in Game 4 from a pitching perspective.  The Braves will be sending Freddy Garcia out there with a 4.37 ERA in 17 games pitched, while the Dodgers will send out Ricky Nolasco, who has a 3.70 ERA.

With the weapons that the Dodgers have, they should be able to abuse the older Garcia.  They put up double-digit runs against the Braves on Sunday against a stronger pitcher, and if they can ride this hot streak, then the Braves will be ending their season earlier than they would like.

American League Division Series

Oakland Athletics vs. Detroit Tigers

If you're a fan of pitching duels, then Game 2 of this series was a dream come true.

We didn't see a single run on Saturday until the bottom of the ninth inning, when Stephen Vogt broke through win a walk-off single to give the A's the 1-0 win.  Both Sonny Gray and Justin Verlander pitched absolute gems until they were pulled.

With how powerful the Tigers offense is, we should see some more runs on Monday.  Jarrod Parker will be taking the mound for Oakland, with an ERA of 3.97 during the regular season.  The A's might have more trouble than the Tigers, as Anibal Sanchez will get the start after posting a 14-8 record and a 2.57 ERA.

The Tiger are still favorites to win this series, but Oakland made a big statement with that walk-off win and they have a bit of momentum for now.  However, with those starting pitchers and great hitters, the Tigers are going to make it very hard.

Boston Red Sox vs. Tampa Bay Rays

This hasn't been a close series so far, and the Red Sox will be looking to advance to the ALCS on Monday.

The Rays can't match up offensively against the Red Sox, but they might be even in the pitching matchup for Game 3.  Alex Cobb will get the start, and his last outing in the Wild Card round was a good one, throwing 6.2 innings with no runs, eight hits and five strikeouts.

Clay Buchholz will start for the Red Sox, and he's been terrific since returning from shoulder surgery.  In his 16 starts, he had just a 1.74 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 108.1 innings pitched.

The Rays aren't going to be able to match up with this Red Sox offense, however, as they have just too many weapons that can break out at any point.  Don't expect the Rays to extend this series any farther, and look for the Red Sox to make a run for the World Series berth in the ALCS.
