
Europa League Results: Analysis for Anzhi vs. Tottenham Hotspur and All Matches
The 2013-14 UEFA Europa League group stage continued with Matchday 2 on Thursday as all 48 teams in all 12 groups played matches across Europe.
It was a good night for Premier League clubs.
Tottenham won at Anzhi Makhachkala to stay perfect in Group K, while Swansea stayed perfect in Group A. Meanwhile, Championship club Wigan recorded a first European win by knocking off Maribor in Group D.

Tottenham Hotspur maintained their 100 percent record in Group K with a 2-0 win over Anzhi Makhachkala in Russia. Due to the ongoing conflict in Dagestan, the match was moved approximately 1,100 miles to Ramenskoye, near Moscow.
Jermain Defoe and Nacer Chadli scored for Spurs in near-freezing conditions. Defoe's goal moved him within one of Martin Chivers' club-record 22 European strikes.
Anzhi remained winless this season following an abrupt change in direction by owner Suleyman Kerimov, who slashed the club's budget and sold key players this summer.
Defoe scored the opener in the 34th minute, blasting a high shot into the net following Lewis Holtby's through ball. Chadli doubled Spurs' lead five minutes later, having been set up by Kyle Walker's final pass.
Spurs top Group K with six points. Anzhi are last with zero.

Swansea City 1-0 St. Gallen

Swansea City stayed perfect and took control of Group A with a 1-0 victory at home to Swiss side St. Gallen.
Wayne Routledge scored the only goal in the 52nd minute as Swansea came away victorious in a physically demanding match. Swans forward Michu had to leave the pitch briefly in the first half after a kick to his head drew blood.
St. Gallen had a chance to take the lead in the 15th minute after winning a penalty, but Goran Karanovic's spot-kick was weak and Gerhard Tremmel saved easily to his right. Later in the first half, St. Gallen's Marco Mathys dragged a shot just wide of the far post.
Swansea top Group A with six points. St. Gallen are joint-second with three.

Wigan 3-1 NK Maribor

Hosting their inaugural European match, Wigan recorded a first-ever European victory by beating NK Maribor 3-1 in Group D.
Wigan, currently 15th in English football's second tier, scored twice in the first half through Ben Powell—the club's first European goal—and Ben Watson. Maribor, the defending Slovenian champions, pulled one back through Tavares in the 60th minute, but Powell sewed up the points with Wigan's third in stoppage time.
The result took Wigan up to second place in Group D with four points. Maribor are last with zero points.

Kuban Krasnodar 0-2 Valencia
Valencia scored twice in the final 20 minutes to claim their first victory in Group A.
Substitute Paco Alcacer broke the deadlock in the 73rd minute, pouncing on a mistake by Kuban goalkeeper Aleksandr Belenov to slot home. Sofiane Feghouli made it 2-0 with a free kick eight minutes later.
Valencia are joint-second in Group A with three points. Kuban have yet to collect a point.
Group B

Ludogorets Razgrad 3-0 Dinamo Zagreb
Bulgarian side Ludogorets Razgrad remained perfect with a 3-0 win at home to Dinamo Zagreb in Group B. Juninho Quixada, Virgil Misidjan and Svetoslav Dyakov scored the goals for the hosts.
Dimano have yet to claim a point.
Chornomorets Odesa 0-2 PSV Eindhoven
PSV Eindhoven rebounded from a loss at Ludogorets on Matchday 1 with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Chornomorets in Ukraine.
The visitors went ahead in the 13th minute on 19-year-old Memphis Depay's impressive long-distance goal. Substitute Florian Jozefzoon secured the victory with PSV's second two minutes from time.

Elfsborg 1-1 Standard Liege
Elfsborg and Standard Liege shared the points with a 1-1 draw in Sweden.
Viktor Claesson put the hosts ahead in the 23rd minute, only for Geoffrey Mujangi Bia to equalize in the second half.
Esbjerg 1-2 SV Salzburg
Alan hit a double as SV Salzburg deafeated Esbjerg 2-1 in Denmark.
The Brazilian scored in the sixth and 38th minutes to give Salzburg a 2-0 half-time lead. Pape Pate Diouf grabbed a consolation for Esbjerg one minute from time.
Salzburg top Group C with six points from two matches.
Group D

Rubin Kazan 4-0 Zulte-Waregem
Rubin Kazan scored four times in the second half on the way to a record-breaking 4-0 win over Belgian side Zulte-Waregem.
Rubin top Group D with six points from two matches and have won a record nine consecutive European fixtures.
After a scoreless first half, the hosts went ahead in the 60th minute via an own goal by Zulte's Frederic Duplus. Gokdeniz Karadeniz, Alexander Ryazantsev and Bebars Natcho scored in the final 20 minutes.
Group E

Dnipro 1-2 Fiorentina
Fiorentina took control of Group E with a 2-1 win at Dnipro. Both teams entered with three points following Matchday 1.
Gonzalo Rodriguez put the visitors ahead with a penalty in the 53rd minute. Dnipro equalized with their own penalty four minutes later, scored by Yevhen Seleznyov. Massimo Ambrosini scored the winner in the 73rd minute.
Paços de Ferreira 1-1 Pandurii Targu-Jiu
Rui Miguel's equalizer for Pacos de Ferreira four minutes into the second half canceled out an early goal by Marko Momcilovic.

Apoel Nicosia 0-3 Eintracht Frankfurt
Srdjan Lakic and Sebastian Jung scored in the second half for Eintracht Frankfurt, who remained perfect in Group F. The opener was an own goal by Nektarios Alexandrou in the 27th minute.
Bordeaux 0-2 Maccabi Tel-Aviv
Bordeaux slumped two a second straight defeat as Maccabi Tel-Aviv came from behind to win in France.
Jussie put the hosts ahead in the 49th minute, but Barach Yitzhaki and Micha Dor scored for Maccabi in the 71st and 79th minutes.

Racing Genk 2-1 FC Thun
All three goals came in the second half. Julien Gorius (55') and Jelle Vossen (63') gave Racing a 2-0 lead before Josef Martinez bagged a stoppage-time consolation for Thun.
Rapid Vienna 2-2 Dynamo Kiev
Rapid Vienna came from 2-0 behind to record an unlikely draw at home.
Andriy Yarmolenko put Dynamo ahead in the 30th minute, and an own goal made it 2-0 four minutes later. Guido Burgstaller started the comeback in the 53rd minute, and Christopher Trimmel equalized in stoppage time.

Liberec 2-1 Estoril
Josef Sural and Radoslav Kovan scored for Liberec. Luis Leal briefly brought Estoril level with a second-half strike.
Both sides had a player sent off.
Sevilla 2-0 SC Freiburg
Diego Perotti put Sevilla ahead from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute, one minute after Fallou Diagne was sent off for a foul in the box.
Carlos Bacca sealed the win with a 90th-minute goal.
Group I

Lyon 1-1 Guimaraes
Ouwo Moussa Maazou fired the visitors into a surprising lead six minutes before the half, but Maxime Gonalons equalized in the 53rd minute for Lyon.
Maazou was sent off in second-half stoppage time.
Guimaraes top the group with four points. Lyon are tied with Real Betis in second place with two points.
Rijeka 1-1 Real Betis
Leon Benko put Rijeka ahead in the 10th minute, but Cedric pulled the visitors level just four minutes later.
Rijeka are last in the group with one point.
Group J

Legia Warsaw 0-1 Apollon Limassol
Gaston Sangoy scored the only goal in the 56th minute as Apollon Limassol claimed an away win.
Sangoy also missed a penalty in the 24th minute.
Trabzonspor 3-3 Lazio
Sergio Floccari scored twice in two minutes later in the second half to give Lazio a dramatic draw with hosts Trabzonspor in Turkey.
Trabzonspor led 2-0 and 3-1 in an eventful first half. Yusuf Erdogan and Adrian Mierzejewski scored in the first 22 minutes to make it 2-0, and Paulo Henrique made it 3-1 after Ogenyi Onazi put Lazio on the scoresheet.

Tromso 1-1 Sheriff Tiraspol
Zdenek Ondrasek put Tromso ahead in the 65th minute, but Sheriff Tiraspol's Ricardinho equalized with a low shot at the near post following some impressive ball control in the box.
Tiraspol had Melli sent off in the 73rd minute.
Group L

Shakhter Karagandy 2-2 Maccabi Haifa
Andrey Finonchenko and Yevgeni Tarasov scored in the first half to give Shakhter a 2-0 lead at the break. Maccabi Haifa responded with second-half goals from Hen Ezra and Alon Turgeman.
AZ Alkmaar 1-1 PAOK Salonika
Dimitris Salpingidis scored in the fourth minute of stoppage time to rescue a 1-1 draw for PAOK.
AZ Alkmaar had taken the lead through Jeffrey Gouweleeuw in the 82nd minute.
