Michigan vs. Connecticut: TV Info, Spread, Injury Updates, Game Time and More
No. 15 Michigan may be 3-0 to start the season—including a victory over Notre Dame—but the Wolverines are facing plenty of questions after barely squeaking by Akron last week.
In the 28-24 win, the Wolverines committed four turnovers, including three interceptions by starting quarterback Devin Gardner. One of Gardner's picks was returned 27 yards for a score. Michigan was actually trailing 24-21 before running back Fitzgerald Toussaint iced the game with a touchdown plunge with less than three minutes remaining.
Fortunately for the Wolverines, they get to play Connecticut next.
The Huskies are 0-2, coming off a 32-21 loss to Maryland. That includes allowing 501 total yards against the Terrapins. They rank 95th in the nation in points allowed per game and 102nd in points per contest.
Let's take a look at the matchup on Saturday in East Hartford.

Top Storyline: The Play of Devin Gardner
After losing dual-threat quarterback Denard Robinson in the offseason, the last thing the Wolverines need is for Devin Gardner to start coughing up the ball.
It's been both good and bad for Gardner so far this season. He ranks 12th in touchdown passes and 22nd in yards per pass attempt. He also ranks fifth in rushing yards, sixth in rushing touchdowns and sixth in yards per carry among quarterbacks.
On the other hand, the junior has already tossed six interceptions, and he ranks 72nd in the nation in completion percentage.
Granted, it's not all on Gardner. The young offensive line hasn't exactly done him any favors. But the interceptions are on him. He needs to take better care of the ball.
This will be the last matchup before Michigan begins Big Ten play. Gardner and the Wolverines need to iron out a lot of things before then.
Prediction: Michigan 35, Connecticut 17
Michigan's running game isn't as explosive as it used to be. Devin Gardner is gift-wrapping footballs for defenses like it's Christmas. And both the offensive line and defensive line haven't been up to par.
That doesn't change the fact that the Wolverines are facing Connecticut.
Home-field advantage doesn't seem to matter to the Huskies this season, and it won't in Week 4. They rank 119th in the nation in yards per pass attempt allowed and 87th in yards per carry ceded. And they lost to FCS opponent Towson.
Michigan will play better. Connecticut doesn't seem to have the ability to play much better. It adds up to a nice warm-up game for the Wolverines as they look ahead to the matchup against Minnesota on Oct. 5.
