The Chicago White Sox Stink: A Complete Team Analysis
Sitting here, watching the demolition of the White Sox by the Blue Jays, I have finally come to accept that the White Sox stink this year.
They are the worst team in the American League in runs (136) and RBI (132). They are the second worst in batting average (.251), hits (278), extra base hits (85), and total bases (433). The fielding isn't that great as they've committed 23 errors, the second most in the American League. The pitching is average or worse all across the board.
The lone bright spots are AJ Pierzynski (who has been hot in May), Paul Konerko (who has rebounded tremendously from last year), Jermaine Dye (top-40 stats wise), and Bobby Jenks (irrelevant without save opportunities).

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Here are the rest of the White Sox:
Second baseman Chris Getz, a rookie, is batting .258 with zero home runs and six RBI. A lead off hitter has to get on base. Getz has a below average .324 on-base percentage and three measly steals. The White Sox won the 2005 World Series because they had such a good lead off hitter.
Shorstop Alexei Ramirez has played so bad that he's been benched. After a stellar rookie year, Ramirez is batting an awful .219 with one home run and 13 RBI. He has an awful .257 on-base percentage, as he functionally swings at everything (refusing to take a walk).
Third baseman Josh Fields, dubbed a power hitter, is only slugging .339 with two home runs and 12 RBI. Where's the power? Fields strikes out one out of every three at-bats. He's also no Joe Crede with the glove, having already committed five errors.
Center fielder Scott Podsednik has returned to the White Sox and is doing just average. He's batting .273, but has a terrible .286 on-base percentage. How in the world is he slugging more than getting on base? Brian Anderson looked like he was starting to finally develop. Let's hope he comes back soon to complement Pods.
Left fielder Carlos Quentin started off the season on fire. But now he's in a massive slump. He's batting .200 with zero home runs and 2 RBI in the month of May. He carried this team last season, and needs to step up.
Designated hitter Jim Thome is batting .225. He strikes out 37 percent of the time and only has a .217 average with runners in scoring position. At least he's no David Ortiz.
The bench has no depth. Brent Lillibridge and Jayson Nix are barely sophomores who are not going to get the job done. It also looks like the Nick Swisher for Wilson Betemit trade backfired.
What happened to Gavin Floyd? His ERA (7.32) is almost double last year's. His K:BB ratio is pretty bad (31:21). His batting average against is an awful .315. Jon Danks, also coming off a stellar year, has been way too inconsistent. He's either brilliant, or awful. He has a 4.82 ERA. Same applies to Bartolo Colon who has a 4.88 ERA. Jose Contreras didn't get the job done, so they call on Clayton Richard, a player who has never done anything good.
The bullpen (Octavio Dotel, Scott Linebrink, Bobby Jenks, DJ Carrasco) has been stellar, but they don't matter if they're not holding on to wins.
It is a young team "Rebuilding." That's just a code word for a bad year ahead. I hope I am wrong, but these slumping stinky Sox are making their games hard to watch.
