Danny Granger Wins Most Improved Player

Indiana Pacers starย Danny Grangerย has won the Kia Most Improved Player Award, becoming the third Pacer to win the award, and the first since Jermaine O'Neal in 2002.

Granger, a fourth year pro out of New Mexico, averaged career highs in points (25.8), assists (2.7), and minutes (36.2) for the 36-46 Pacers.

The Kia Most Improved Player Award annually goes to the player who best displays noticeable improvement in areas of their game.

Granger became the first player in Pacer history to record a season average of 25.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 85 percent from the free throw line.

Granger broke numerous single-game franchise records, including becoming the only player in the organization's history to make a minimum of 17 consecutive free throws in a game (Dec. 17, 2008).

Granger beat out New Jersey Nets guardย Devin Harrisย and Oklahoma City Thunder wingerย Kevin Durantย for the 2009 honor.
