Mark Hughes' Struggle To Hang On to Seventh Place, His Job with Manchester City

Tottenham Hotspur play Manchester City and Liverpool

I must say, looking over the list, that Manchester City have the best chance, don't you think? If Manchester City can overcome Tottenham Hotspur, then they have a very good chance, so it all boils down to their next and second-to-last Premier League fixture.

Previously we played typical City against a not so impressive Man U side, Micah Richards seems to have become a big ego and had allowed it to affect his complete game, was made to look like a championship right-back by once-Manchester City trialist Ryan Giggs and Portugese World Champion high-diver Cristiano Ronaldo.

Why does Mark Hughes continue to use Caicedo upfront on his own? It is as clear as day that Caicedo is out of his depth and that was to be seen on more than one occasion. Valeri Bojinov has been fully fit for the last two weeks and Bojinov is five times a better striker than Caicedo so why has he been left on the bench?

I wanted Hughes out halfway through the season after giving him the benefit of the doubt and sure I did give him the benefit of the doubt. But now I see Hughes for what he is: "average." He is a mid-table manager, I don't doubt he has done a good job in steadying the boat but that is as far as his talent will take him I think.

Playing the inaffective Caicedo ahead of a fit Bojinov, playing an average flop Micah Richards ahead of the fit and perfect Pablo Zabaleta, continuing to play the "has been" Richard Dunne when clearly he is past his best instead of playing Vincent Kompany at Centre-back allowing for the chance to play two strikers upfront.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no football manager game player but I do know how the game works and I know when I see someone out of their depth.

So it comes to the questions of:

Can Hughes get Manchester City to win their last two games?

Will securing seventh save Hughes' job?

If Manchester City don't secure seventh, will Hughes still be at City?

Whether or not you want Hughes to stay, if he does stay at Manchester City we can all be happy about one thing: At least he can not do any damage and at least we are still in the top 10.

I am all for giving people a chance, only one chance mind so no matter what happens I am happy.

Players that will leave City are:

Gelson fernandes (sold)

Tal Ben Hiam, Benjani and Javier Garrido are possible movers.

Glauber Berti, Danny Mills, Dietmar Hamann, Darius Vassel and Michael Ball will all be out of contract looking for a new challenge.

Fellow City fans can look forward to a new and refreshing 09/10 season for a big clear out replaced by class is in store for definite.

Incoming players will be?

Centre-half:

Centre-back:

Left-back:

Holding Midfield:
