Cleveland Cavaliers: Eight Down and 8 To Go
The stage is now set, the moment of truth has arrived. For the citizens of Cleveland, Ohio and it's neighboring provinces and suburbs have come to the mid-point. Years have gone by with the leaky faucet of championship despair hovering over this city.
LeBron offers hope.......
The intangible that signifies the fact that one has a shot.
My finger tips are tingling, now as a true fan I'm not counting my chickens before they hatch. It's the fact the Cavaliers are really resembling some type of superhero mantra.
At this juncture of the playoffs, LeBron and his crew from here on out represent the "Bully".
It is starting to get a little ridiculous with the way the other series are playing out. Yet the Cavs keep a humble yet cocky approach to their quest. In game 3 LeBron's strut resembled that of George Jefferson. "Well were movin' on up (chorus), to the East side (chorus) to the deeeeluxe apartments in the skyyyyyyyy."
I had to get that in there... But seriously, the Lakers run in the middle of this millennium was awesome. Shaq and Kobe ran through the playoffs like Bolt in 100m. LeBron and Co. are doing the same with the exact precision that provided the Lakers with their run of titles.
Shaq isn't present in the playoffs this year, neither is Tim Duncan but Chauncey is there along with Kobe and Paul Pierce representing the only remaining players left in the playoffs with rings.
I forgot one other.........Ben Wallace
He happens to play for the Cavs, which leads me to this point. Kobe, Chauncey and Paul have to prove that they can win without Shaq, K.G. and Ben. LeBron has Ben on his side, although he hasn't played a significant role thus far in the playoffs. Ben Wallace defensively has anchored the Cavaliers second unit.
With much more rest on the way, Cleveland is now set for yet another voyage. This time the right to play for it all. The Celtics are proving why you need a coach when playing organized basketball. The Magic are proving that Dwight Howard hasn't learned a thing from Patrick Ewing.
On the other side, Ron Artest is willing the Rockets to victories. Kobe looks tired and Carmelo with Chauncey Billups by his side are just outright slapping opponents in their grill. (They should have won game 4)
In order to wear that ring, you have to win Sixteen. The Cavaliers have eight and that is truly great. We're almost there folks, let's just hope there are no hick-ups or strokes.
