5 Funniest Players' Moments in Ligue 1 on Video
To many, Ligue 1 does not have the same allure as the Premier League, La Liga and the Bundesliga.
However, despite an often perceived lack of talent, the French top flight still delivers its fair share of moments of exceptional quality.
Yet, for every glorious strike or precise pass, there are moments of hilarity that most players would care to forget and bizarre occurrences that live long in memory.
Bleacher Report takes you through five of the funniest players' moments in Ligue 1 last season.
Ali Ahamada's Last-Minute Goal
1 of 5It may seem a trifle harsh to select Toulouse goalkeeper Ali Ahamada's last-minute equalizer against Rennes as one of the funniest moments to take place in Ligue 1 in recent times.
The 21-year-old's dramatic leveler will go down as one of the greatest moments in his career. Still, for purists, the sight of a keeper hitting the back of the net will always be a bemusing sight in the game.
The celebrations with the supporters only added to the amusement. Ahamada is a player of great promise, and although he may go on to enjoy great success, he will always be remembered for that one goal at the Stade Municipal in September 2012.
Steve Mandanda's Miscued Throw
2 of 5From a goalkeeping stunner to a goalkeeping shocker.
At the time of Marseille's meeting with Valenciennes, Elie Baup's men were at the top of Ligue 1, having won their first six games last season.
It all came crashing down at the Stade du Hainaut, however, as Valenciennes cruised to a 4-1 win, with Steve Mandanda's ridiculously bad throw capping off a dismal display from OM.
He is, without doubt, one of the better keepers in Ligue 1, but the France international will be hoping to banish this game from his memory for good.
Opa Nguette's Failed Header
3 of 5Glaring misses can change a game in an instant and cause despair among fans.
However, although these close calls are often a source of agony for supporters, they are a great source of laughter for those of a neutral disposition.
Valenciennes' Opa Nguette knows what it is like to embarrass himself in front of goal. While the 19-year-old has a promising career in front of him, he will have to show more composure than he did against Saint-Etienne back in April if he is to be more prolific in front of goal next term.
Mamadou Sakho Goes in Goal
4 of 5Paris Saint-Germain's final game of the 2012-13 season against Lorient was completely meaningless.
The Parisians had already won the Ligue 1 title when they traveled to the Stade du Moustoir, and they were cruising to a comfortable win when substitute goalkeeper Ronan Le Crom was dismissed.
Benoit Bastien's decision devastated Le Crom, who was making his first and only appearance of the season.
However, the sympathy for the veteran stopper soon gave way to amusement, when Mamadou Sakho took his place in between the sticks, unsuccessfully trying to save a penalty in comical fashion.
Snow Shovelling in Saint-Etienne
5 of 5One of the strangest games of last season took place at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, where Saint-Etienne met Montpellier in the grip of a winter storm in February.
Saint-Etienne were already well in control when the snow began to accumulate, but referee Philippe Kalt was forced to stop play to allow the pitch to be cleared.
Les Verts would go on to emerge as comfortable winners, but the long break gave the fans a chance to enjoy the home team's whimsical side, with Christophe Galtier's men enjoying themselves as they assisted the groundsmen in their work.
