Drogba of Chelsea Disgraces Football
Yes, Didier, it was a disgrace. Your behavior was a disgrace, but that's to be expected from possibly the worst sportsman in the history of football.
When I looked for a picture for this article the first four pictures I found were of Drogba lying on the floor. No surprise, there!
I can't help but feel absolutely no sympathy for the overdramatic, diving, cheating Drogba. Maybe now he knows how some of the opposition players feel after he's conned a penalty off the referee.
This giant of a man falls at the slightest touch and always seems to be rolling around in agony. Is their anyone on the planet with a lower pain threshold? I doubt it.
If it's a big game and Chelsea are ahead, then Drogba's Oscar winning performances begin. He is the disgrace, as he is constantly trying to fool the referee to gain a free or penalty, or trying to cheat his fellow professionals to get players sent off.
There seems to be a cancer running through Chelsea since Mourinho took over. They feel they can bully the referee on and off the pitch.
Do you remember Anders Frisk and what happened to him after he sent off Drogba in the first leg of their Champions League tie in 2005? Mourinho inaccurately accused Frisk of having invited the Barca manager into his dressing room at half time. As a result of these actions, Frisk retired with immediate effect due to death threats. What are the bets that last night's ref also receives death threats?
What about the semifinal against Liverpool and the "phantom goal" about which Chelsea constantly whined? Of course, they neglect to mention that, if the ref had of done his job properly that night, then he would have had to send off Cech and award Liverpool a penalty. Chelsea were bad losers then and they are bad losers now.
Lets look at the incidents from last night. The first call was when Abidal and Drogba clashed in the first half. That wasn't a penalty. Drogba went down too easily.
Then, there was Piques' hand ball. That was a stonewall penalty.
We also had Toures' tackle on Drogba. It started off with them both grappling with each other and then Drogba broke into the box with the ball only to be stopped by a sensational tackle from Toure. It was a great tackle.
At the end, there was the Eto'o incident where the ball was smashed by Ballack and hit the underside of his arm and back below his shoulder with Eto'o's back turned to the shot. This was never a Penalty.
Only one of the above was a definite penalty, but the Chelsea players reacted like lunatics and made a meal out of all of them with Ballack nearly hitting the ref. This is the way they always react, even in the prem. They surround the ref and get in his face, screaming at him.
What about in the first leg when Barca should've had a penalty for a foul on Henry or when Ballack should've received a second yellow and been sent off for fouling Iniesta intentionally? I didn't see them complaining then. Also Abidal was sent off last night incorrectly and Barca had to play with 10 men for the last 25 minutes, and a goal down.
Another story coming out of Stamford Bridge after the game was that there is a conspiracy in Uefa to prevent an all English final. Have you ever heard such nonsense? The English are convinced for some unknown reason that Michel Platini hates the English and will do anything to stop them dominating world football. Nonsense.
I am sick of seeing Chelsea players going crazy when they lose a big game and coming out with pathetic excuses. Yes, last night the referee was not up to scratch, but he was bad for both teams.
The antics of Drogba and Ballack were disgraceful. They had plenty of chances to win the game and didn't take them.
It was funny to see Drogba at the end shouting "It is a disgrace, it is an effing disgrace." There was an old saying that came to mind: "Pot calling the kettle black!"
