Minnesota Vikings 2009: Expectations and Obstacles
2009 looks to be a promising season for the Minnesota Vikings.
With nearly the whole defense returning, eyes shift to the offense once again. The NFL has proven to be a pass happy league, and the Vikings are missing a major ingredient in a pass happy recipe—the quarterback.
The Vikings addressed their need for a QB with the offseason aquisition of Sage Rosenfels from the Houston Texans, but is he the answer? That remains to be seen.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Tavaris Jackson will be competing with Rosenfels for the starting position, but to Viking's fans, Jackson's leash is shorter than a Lindsay Lohan stint in rehab.
As I write, Brad Childress is in Mississippi, speaking with football legend Brett Favre about a return to football.
I feel Brett Favre, if healthy, could be just what the Vikings need to establish a playoff-caliber swagger.
Look, Favre may not be the Favre of the 90s, but the Favre of '09 is better than anything the Vikings have. Not to mention Favre's lust to spite Packer's general manager Ted Thompson.
With good quarterback play, the sky is the limit for the men in purple.
The Vikings also added a risk/reward draft pick in choosing WR Percy Harvin with their first round selection. If the reward side of that coin prevails, the Vikings could have added the most explosive player in the 2009 NFL draft.
With running back Adrian Peterson, Harvin could offer a new dimension to the offense, helping relieve pressure stacked up in the box.
Second round pick Phil Loadholt looks to provide run blocking capabilities to the right side of the offensive line.
Once again, offensive production is the key to the Vikings making a deep run in the playoffs. Keep the defense well rested, keep the touchdowns flowing, and keep the fans happy. The Vikings are a well-rounded team on the brink of success.
