The Minnesota Vikings Should Bring in Brett Favre, But with Certain Conditions
Here we go again. All this talk about Brett Favre making yet another comeback. The team involved is the Minnesota Vikings. It makes sense because that is where he wanted to play last year. The chance to get revenge on the Packers may be too much for Favre to pass up.
The question is, should the Vikings be interested in pursuing this. I say absolutely. When healthy, Favre can still play with the best of them. However, I really want to stress the "when healthy" part.
There is no doubt that his body can't hold up for the whole year. The last two years have proven that.

Therefore, if I were Brad Childress, I would bring Favre in, but I would tell him this:
"Brett we are bringing you here because we believe you can be the guy to take us to the next level. However, we seriously don't care about your streak of games started. We need you healthy, especially for the post season.
"Therefore if at any point your health is a question mark, we will play Rosenfels for that game. We have faith in him. We have no intention of starting you for all 16 games. We will rest you late in the year if our spot in the playoffs is secured. Again, the postseason is where we need you."
Two years ago, the Packers may have been in the Super Bowl if Favre were healthy. There was a soft spot in the schedule where the Packers could have gone with Rodgers and got Brett healthy for the playoffs. For whatever reason, they chose not to do that.
Last year the Jets got off to the 8-3 start. They lost down the stretch because of their quarterback. There is no question about that. It is true that Favre had a torn tendon in his shoulder but refused to come out.
Sure it was toughness, but I draw the line when a player is hurting his team because of it.
In closing, yes the Vikings should take him but not put his interests ahead of the team.
