RedsFest Makes for Best Day Ever

Here is proof that I did indeed meet Joey Votto and Adam Rosales at RedsFest this past December. Needless to say, I was as thrilled as a thirteen-year-old girl at a Jonas Brothers concert. The funny thing about the picture is that no one would guess I’m the same age as both of these guys.
Both Joey and Adam were very cool guys and very polite to the fans. I’m sure RedsFest weekend doesn’t rank up there with any Red player as a favorite time of the year, but each one I encountered seemed to make the best of it for the fans.
RedsFest was a lot of fun for my wife and I me. Honestly, the lady put up with a lot that weekend, but she did manage to enjoy herself a little bit. She especially enjoyed it when Brandon Phillips snuck up behind her and pinched her hip on his way to an autograph booth. I didn’t mind, of course. I was proud.
I was also able to meet Kim Nuxhall, Joe’s son, and had him sign my book, “Joe Nuxhall: The Life, Legacy, and Words of a Cincinnati Icon.” It’s a must-have book for fans and friends of the ol' lefthander.
The other highlight I should mention was that I was able to meet a favorite broadcaster of mine, Jeff “The Cowboy” Brantley. He politely signed my baseball and put “Cowboy” on it as well. Quite a cool guy.
If you’re a Reds fan and you have never been to RedsFest, I urge you to try to go. It really is a well-run event that provides a lot of fun and interactive things for adults and kids alike. I should also mention that the ticket proceeds go to the Reds Community Fund, so you’re having a good time and helping a great cause all at one time.
As far as a precap goes, it’s Micah Owings vs. Ross Ohlendorf. Laynce Nix takes a seat for Chris Dickerson tonight. It makes no sense, folks.
Oh yeah, and did I mention the Reds have the best road record in baseball (8-3)?
