Will Rome Be a Case of Deja Vu: United-Chelsea Again?
A little bit of luck and loads of brilliance; that is exactly what has powered Manchester United to play their original DEVILISH style of football. Every Old Trafford faithful had his head in his hands, no one knew what really had gone wrong with United tottering against Tottenham at 2-0 down on Saturday.
Then suddenly, United came back in the second half playing slicker football with the introduction of Tevez. There was still hope. Then came the moment which I feel will be the turning point of the season for United. Carrick was awarded a penalty by the referee Howard Webb. The decision—simply wrong.

What followed was carnage, utter carnage. Rooney and Ronaldo terrorized Spurs and in what truly turned out to be a game of two halves; the final score read 5-2.
United then picked up where they left off against the Gunners in the semis. The passing was accurate and the original holy trinity of United—Tevez, Rooney and Ronaldo wreaked havoc in the final third. Ironically, they couldn't put anything past keeper Manuel Almunia, it was full back O'Shea of all people who netted one in.
Arsenal, however, looked dazed. They never got into the game and injuries have definitely had their impact too. To make things worse the fact that United do tend to score every time they play against their traditional rivals at the emirates is going to make things even tougher.
Secondly in the other semi final, Chelsea huffed and puffed against Barcelona at the Nou Camp. However somehow or the other, they came back to London with a clean sheet. Under Hiddink, they have started to rediscover their home form and have become more solid at the back.
More importantly, Champions League is priority for the blues as they have already lost the race for the league title.
On the other hand, Barca are another side chasing all kinds of glory. I really do feel they will slip up against Chelsea. Their problem is that they have amazing talent, daring, skill, verve and of course pace going forward but they are weak at the back and the injury to Marquez makes things even more problematic.
This is exactly why I feel we will witness a marvellous rematch between United and Chelsea in Rome with all due respect to Arsenal and Barcelona...and let's hope that it's even more glorious than last year!! Sir Alex against Guus Hiddink will indeed be something wonderful—two magical tacticians—hopefully at their very best!!
