Ain't That a Kick in the Head? The Week That Was in Football
Sorry for my recent absence, I've been pretty bogged down lately with coursework so I haven't really had any time to come on here and post my thoughts, but I'm back now. (Laugh out load).
The Arsenal game for me was devastating, absolutely devastating. I didn't and don't really care about how good of a spectacle it was, that was and still is, of no comfort to me what so ever. All I cared about was how the result effected our chances of winning the league.
It felt like a loss to me, it really did. The title's not over until it's mathematically over, but this was a huge blow in my eyes. There is a fine line between success and failure..

We let in three self-induced goals caused by Careless, sloppy defending. It was Arsenal and Arshavin's lucky day to be gifted such goals as they were. Fair does, there fourth was because we were pushing for a winner and they caught us on the counter attack, however their first three were totally preventable.
In terms of man of the match, my vote would have gone to Yossi. I thought he was lively and a real threat all night, scoring two goals in the process. He really has been playing well over the last couple of months!
When I got back on Saturday and saw the replay of United's 'penalty' I was incredibly pissed off. Penalty? My bottom it was! Absolute shocker of a decision. That was the turning point in that game, it handed the momentum too United, an absolute gift for them.
I'm not saying Spurs would have won that game if United hadn't have been awarded that "penalty," but it certainly changed the whole complexion of the game.
Listening to the game on the radio on the way back from Hull, it sounded as if Spurs were comfortable.
And although there are other factors to consider in United's comeback, such as the introduction of Tevez, Spur's general capitulation, and United simply just playing well second half, the timing of the "penalty" so early on in the half gave them such an undeserved route back into the game and would have given them so much belief and the momentum to go on and win it! Absolute sickener.
Anyway, on too our game at the K.C. I thought we were totally outbattled by a spirited Hull City side in the first half. Hull should have felt aggrieved to have gone in 1-0 behind at half time, as they definitely didn't deserve too.
I thought the Ref got the sending off spot on. You just can't kick out at a player like that. I had also been pretty impressed with Caleb Folan in the first half as well. Held the ball up, brought others into play and closed down well.
Come on you Redmen, keep the faith!
