Top Contenders
As a juvenile, he's placed in two Grade 1 stakes. He was also impressive in taking third at last fall's Breeders' Cup.
Capo Bastone was switched to trainer Todd Pletcher at the start of this year and promptly took first in an allowance optional claiming race at Gulfstream Park.
The last time out for this horse was not as successful. He failed to place in the money on March 23 in a Grade 3 stakes on the Polytrack at Turfway Park.
Garrett Gomez gets the mount on this horse, and they should form a formidable team for this mile outing.
Forty Tales
Forty Tales enters this race off some solid showings.
He came in second in a Grade 2 stakes at the Hutcheson on Feb. 2, and then fifth in a March 2 Grade 3 stakes at Gulfstream Park on March 2.
Jockey Joel Rosario has quality experience on this horse and will know how to approach this mile race. Forty Tales has nice speed. It is just a matter of managing the distance.
When he came in second at the Hutcheson, he did so with a furious late charge that saw him just miss out on chasing down winner Honorable Dillon.
Zee Bros
This Bob Baffert-trained horse makes the trek to this race from California after breaking his maiden in his second start on March 23.
That came at Santa Anita, and it came in noteworthy fashion. This horse caught everyone's attention by posting a 102 Beyer Speed Figure in that race.
He's continued to turn heads since then while turning in two bullet five-furlong outings since.
Mike Smith gets the mount for this horse, and he will have to try and turn that marvelous speed into results in this long race.
