John Boyett: 5 Things You Need to Know About the Oregon FS
The Oregon Ducks had a fantastic season, and John Boyett was a key contributor on that defense.
The senior safety is not one of the top prospects in the draft at his position, but he could make some noise in the NFL. Here are five things you should know about him.

Collegiate Stats
2 of 5Unfortunately for John Boyett, he suffered a season-ending injury early in 2012. That is the reason why his statistics are essentially nonexistent for his senior season.
His first three years sparkle, however. He was an all-PAC-12 player at the conclusion of his junior year.

Pro Day Results
40-yard dash:ย 4.57 seconds
John Boyett wasn't able to participate in the NFL combine or Oregon's official pro day because he was still recovering from double knee surgery from this past fall.
He recovered well enough to have hisย own pro dayย recently, however, with good results as far as defensive back drills go. We only have a 40-yard dash time.
There are some size concerns for Boyett as a safety as well.
A Strong Tradition
4 of 5Oregon might be known for its incredible offense in recent years, but you might be surprised to learn the Ducks have churned out several quality defensive backs over the past decade.
Starting in 2002, defensive back prospects out of the Pacific Northwest school include Jairus Byrd, Patrick Chung and T.J. Ward.
Whether Boyett can follow in those footsteps depends on his recovery from knee injuries and where he gets drafted.
Observations
5 of 5John Boyett is one Duck who is flying low under the radarโso low that Twitter has said nary a peep about him, relatively speaking. Here are some of those nuggets:
"Oregon S John Boyett (Napa High) ran in the 4.5s, low 4.6s today -- very good considering he's a month from full recovery from knee surgery.

"Is it just me or has everyone forgotten about John Boyett. A lot of talk about him 6-7 months ago and then he got injured.
โ Zach Kidd (@GBBZach) April 10, 2013"
"Two DB prospects I really like on film but have medicals teams might worry about: CB DJ Hayden and S John Boyett
