Tiger Watch
Despite beginning the day with the news that he would be assessed a two-shot penalty for an illegal drop on Friday, Woods put together a solid round. His two-under 70 keeps him in position to remain in the hunt on the final day.
If he rallies for a win on Sunday, it will be one of his most impressive major championship wins considering the circumstances.
Best of the Day
Tim Clark - 67
Not many people were talking about Clark's day, but he put up the best score of the round with a five-under 67. Were it not for a rough 76 on Friday, he'd be even closer to the leaders than he is now.
As it stands, if he can produce a solid day of play on Sunday, he could be a major sleeper.
Nick Watney - 68
Watney's play is moving in the right direction, but it is possible his porous performance on Thursday killed any chance he had to seriously contend.
His 68 on Saturday followed up a 69 on Friday and an abysmal six-over 78 in the first round. He'll probably need to be even better than he was on Saturday to have a shot.
Thorbjorn Olesen - 68
The upward trend is present in Olesen's play as well. He also shot a 78 on the first day, but was one shot worse on Friday.
After firing a 68 on Saturday, he would have to be amazing on the final day as well to be a factor.
Worst of the Day
Fred Couples - 77
The feel-good story is about over for the 53-year-old. After producing strong performances in the first two rounds, Couples fell apart on Saturday.
His five-over 77 destroyed any chance he had of contending on Sunday.
K.J. Choi - 77
Choi seemed to be getting better each day, but his performance on the back nine was ugly. Four bogeys put him five over par and will make him an afterthought on the final day.
