Masters TV Schedule 2013: Total Coverage Hub for Day 3
Friday's second round at Augusta National saw plenty of storylines develop as Tiger Woods stormed to the top of the leaderboard only to be done in by the flag stick on No. 15. But more so than Tiger's strong round, people were talking about 14-year-old amateur Tianlang Guan, who was assessed a controversial one-stroke penalty.
Guan was headed for a 2-over 74 before being hit with a one-stroke penalty on hole No. 17 for slow play that even Lil Wayne didn't agree with. The penalty put the Chinese amateur in danger of being cut, but he would survive and is set to play the final two rounds this weekend making for one of the great weekend storylines.
Meanwhile, four-time Masters champion Woods shot 1-under in the second round to finish just three strokes off the lead. Tiger might have been headed for an even better day had he not been so unlucky on No. 15, where a brilliant shot struck the flag stick and rolled off the green and into the water.
Tiger would keep his composure and bogey the hole but went on to bogey No. 18.
With all eyes on Tiger, Australian Jason Day would quietly sneak into the lead, shooting a 4-under 68 on Friday to head into the weekend in sole possession of the lead at 6-under.
Staying at the top of the leaderboard, surprising Day 1 co-leader Marc Leishman held his own on Friday, shooting a 1-over 73 to finish the round one stroke back, tied with Fred Couples for second place heading into Saturday's third round.
Meanwhile, Sergio Garcia, who shared the lead with Leishman heading into the clubhouse on Thursday, came unglued on Friday, shooting a 4-over 76 to sit at 2-under heading into the weekend.
Defending champion Bubba Watson looked to be in danger of missing the Friday cut after double bogeying No. 11, but he bounced back and played his final seven holes like a true champion, recording four birdies and just two bogeys the rest of the way to ensure himself two more rounds at Augusta.
With the defending champ, past champions and a 14-year-old amateur still in the mix at the Masters, this weekend promises to entertain.
Here we'll get you set with everything you need to know to make sure you don't miss a minute of what's sure to be a wild third round at Augusta National on Saturday.
