Masters Odds 2013: Favorites Headed for Disappointment at Augusta
Rory McIlroy is going to add the 2013 Masters to his growing list of Masters failures.
If it offers him any solace, he won't be the only favorite who leaves Augusta draped in disappointment. More on Rory and two other doomed favorites in a moment, but first have a look at the players with the 20 lowest odds heading into the Masters.

Rory McIlroy, 8/1
Rory McIlroy finally began to regain his edge last week with a second-place finish at the Texas Open. This performance certainly helps improve his outlook for the Masters.
However, let's not get carried away with our expectations for the 23-year-old. Regaining consistency is a process, and given Rory's up-and-down year, he is not going to have the consistency needed to hold it together for four rounds at a major.
Not only is Rory battling his form this year, but he is battling his demons at Augusta. There was his epic collapse on the back nine in the final round of the 2011 Masters.
He looked unfazed last year as he started off the 2012 Masters strong, but he was terrible in the final two rounds firing a 77 and 76.
I have confidence that Rory will go onto have a solid year, but he is headed for more disappointment at Augusta.
Dustin Johnson, 22/1
Dustin Johnson definitely has the length needed to win at Augusta. However, it hasn't done him much good. In three attempts at the Masters, his best finish is a tie for 30th in 2009.
After a prolonged stretch of bad play, Johnson has posted two strong showings in a row with a fourth-place finish at the Houston Open, and a 12th-place finish at the Cadillac Championship.
Still, Johnson will not be able to keep that hot hand going this week. While he is a great ball striker, he does not have the control needed to place his approach shots in the right position on the tricky Augusta greens, and as we have all seen, a few bad holes can send Johnson's game spiraling in the wrong direction.
Charl Schwartzel, 25/1
Charl Schwartzel took home the green jacket just two years ago. Throw this in with a hot start to the year, and it is no surprise he has some of the lowest odds in the field.
However, Schwartzel has been cooling off lately. In his last two tournaments, he finished 16th at the Cadillac and 22nd at the Texas Open. In that stretch, Schwartzel has begun to lose some of his control. His confidence, which was just soaring, is beginning to slip.
This is no way to enter a major. Schwartzel finished 50th here last year, and I think he is headed toward a similar finish this year.
