Masters 2013: Updated Betting Lines for Golf's Top 50 Players

Jesse ReedJun 8, 2018

The 2013 Masters is set to kick off on Thursday, April 11, and the betting lines are shaping up for the world's top golfers.

These men will test their mettle against Augusta National—one of the toughest venues on the PGA Tour—in an effort to win the coveted green jacket.

Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson have won seven green jackets between them, and it's no surprise that they're among the heavy favorites to win the Masters this year.

Here are the biggest favorites to win the 2013 Masters, according to Bovada.com.

Tiger Woods: 3/1 Odds

It's no secret that Woods is back...sort of.

Woods has won three of the five tournaments he has entered thus far on the 2013 calendar—including his last two events.

His putter has been magical, he's taking advantage of the par fives and is hitting his irons with authority on approach shots.

The only thing that Woods hasn't yet done since his fall from the top is win a major championship. Once he finally gets that monkey off his back, he'll be "back."

Of course, we in the media are the only ones questioning whether he's really back or not. Every golfer on tour knows that Woods is playing outstanding golf right now, and he's going to be tough to beat this weekend at Augusta.

Rory McIlroy: 8/1 Odds

Having won a major in each of the last two seasons, McIlroy has established himself as a legitimate threat in every major tournament.

That said, Augusta has gotten the best of the young star to this point in his career. His best showing came in 2011 when he finished in a tie for 15th place.

Since withdrawing from The Honda Classic in early March, McIlroy has played well, earning an eighth-place finish and a second-place finish in two of his last three events.

McIlroy's biggest strength is also one that will serve him well at Augusta: He is an excellent ball-striker, ranking No. 5 on the PGA Tour in greens in regulation percentage.

If he can keep his drives on the fairways and give himself a chance to take dead aim at the flag, McIlroy will have a good chance of winning.

Phil Mickelson: 10/1 Odds

Mickelson is no stranger to the leaderboard at Augusta.

Since 1995, he has accumulated eight top-three finishes and three victories—not to mention 14 top-10 finishes.

No matter how well or how poorly Mickelson has played from January until April, he's always ready for a weekend charge up the leaderboard at the Masters.

To this point in the season, Lefty has one victory to his name and another top-10 finish. He'll certainly be a player to watch all weekend long, and it will be a big surprise if he's not in contention on Sunday.

Justin Rose: 20/1 Odds

Major wins have eluded Rose throughout his career.

He emerged as a player to watch in 1998 at The Open Championship, finishing in a tie for fourth place in his first major. Since then, Rose has finished in the top 10 on seven occasions, including a fifth-place finish at Augusta in 2007 and an eighth-place finish in last year's Masters.

Rose has been solid thus far in 2013, finishing no worse than 17th place in his four PGA Tour events. He leads the tour in scoring, averaging 68.675 strokes per round.

If Rose can put together a peak performance this weekend, he'll be in the thick of it on Sunday.
