History Repeats: Why LeBron and The Cavaliers Will Win The NBA Title
It's NBA playoff time.
Being the large NBA fan I am, I have to check out the main teams in contention for the title. When I look past the Celtics, the Magic, and all of the teams in the west, the Lakers and then finally, the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Last time we saw the Cavs in the playoffs, it was thrilling Game 7 loss to the Boston Celtics, even with LeBron James' 45 points. The Celtics would eventually go on to win the NBA title, but that's last year.
This year is different.
Finishing the season with the NBA's best record of 66-16, and the second best home record in NBA history with 39 wins and 2 losses, the Cavs have been dominant all season. Why wouldn't they win the title?
The Magic are slated to be 2nd rounders, with the off and on play of Rashard Lewis and Dwight Howard not demanding the ball inside.
The Celtics are without emotional leader Kevin Garnett, who formed the spine of that team.
In all honesty, the Cavs are going to roll through the east. Now to West Contenders:
The Lakers. Kobe-LeBron should be a good match-up, but LeBron will win. Why? Look back at history.
With all the Michael Jordan-LeBron James comparisons, let's look at the career history. Even though LeBron led his team to the title earlier, he was swept quickly by the Spurs.
Jordan won his first title 6 years into his career, in '90-'92. This is James' sixth season. So why shouldn't the same thing happen for the King?
Scottie Pippen, Jordan's sidekick, had recently started forming into an all-star, and was one of the best support players around. LeBron has Mo Williams, who shoots lights out from Nowhere land and is also a great support. He also has West and Big Z at his side.
They say, If you fail to learn history the first time, you'll have to repeat it.Well, we must have not learned how dominant the Bulls are, because they've sent us LeBron and his Cavs.
This year, the only team that can challenge the Cavs are the Lakers, and with the constant as Stephen A. Smith calls it Tin Man Syndrome, Kobe will have a hard time bringing out the heart of his teammates.
The Cavs are your 2008-2009 NBA Champions. Watch as we see LeBron repeat history.
