Chicago Bears Are a Better Team Now
Alright, I am really sick of ESPN's "analysts" explaining the whole Bears-Broncos trade. I figured, that I would give my two cents on the Bears as a whole.
Schlereth and Dilfer and all these so called experts ramble on and on how good Kyle Orton was. Look, I don't hate the guy but seriously, who were they watching?
If they mean Orton was good at overthrowing the deep ball and was a rock in the pocket, then yes, Kyle Orton was the best Quarterback of all time. But honestly, he was mediocre at best. People blame the WR corp and the offensive line for the Bears' cruddy offense.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Let's get something straight, I am perfectly content with Hester being our go to guy and having Olson, Clark and Forte be our primary receivers. It's the way the Bears are built. Our leading receiver was Forte with 64 catches I believe. That is ridiculous that 64 catches LED OUR TEAM.
Now, Cutler and what he brings. He is actually younger than Orton, and better as well. Everyone keeps attributing Cutler's inflated stats to his two supposedly amazing wide receivers. Please.
Eddie Royal and Brandon Marshall. They combined to have 195 catches between them. But do they get those catches if they don't have a good QB to throw to them? HELL NO.
Also take into consideration that Denver has no RBs at all! We have Forte, which in turn, should prevent Cutler from having to throw a million times which will help not only our team win but also keep our offense on the field longer than three minutes.
I was so sick and tired of seeing Orton go out there and throw three short crappy passes that equated to five yards and then punting. What Cutler brings is not only a promising, established quarterback, but he also brings hope that our defense isn't on the field for 40 minutes of the game!
All the analysts say the Bears' defense is aging and past its prime. No, they were just on the field for the entire game! Cutler immediately makes this defense better because they don't feel like giving up a touchdown means the game is over! Cutler's record when his team gives up less than 21 points? 13-1.
Will the Bears hold teams under 21 all the time? No, but our offense will score A LOT MORE.
Another thing is how everyone says the Bears do not have a good offensive line. Let me say that I believe the Bears have drastically improved their O-Line. First off, they already have a pro-bowl Hall of Fame Center in Olin Kruetz. Our Guards may be weak but you could do a lot worse than Beekman and Roberto Garza.
However, we have a plethora of Tackles that could fill in for them. Let's take the recent signing of Orlando Pace into consideration. We bring in a seven-time pro bowl future HOF Tackle in this guy.
The thing I like about this is it is a win-win situation. If he stays healthy, he is one of the best in the league. If he gets hurt, we still have a veteran that can teach our rookie Chris Williams. We also signed Frank Omiyale who is at least a good fill-in. And we also got rid of the extremely crappy John St. Clair and signed Kevin Shaffer. Who?
Yeah, didn't hear much about Shaffer who, from what I see, is extremely underrated. First, he hasn't missed many, if at all, games due to injury. He was a member of the Atlanta Falcons when they led the league in rushing.
Second, he only allowed 4.5 sacks last year which was tied for 11th in the entire league! Compared to St. Clair who gave up more than nine.
If Pace stays healthy, we have two dependable, almost borderline ridiculous Tackles as well as an already amazing Center. Even with mediocre Guards, we should be just fine.
Of course, I am not saying that the Bears are perfect in any way. Will Hester improve upon last year? Will the loss of Mike Brown bring about a gaping hole in our secondary? Can Tillman and Vasher regain their pro bowl form?
Either way, I am banking on Cutler improving a woeful offense and making the defense look that much better due to the fact that they won't be tired.
Da Bears, Thank you Angelo for trading for Cutler and finally bringing a respectable QB to the Windy City. No more KO, or Sexy Rexy, just Jay Cut. The future, looks bright.
