Wishes Do Come True: The Bears Have a Legitimate Top 10 Quarterback
Wishes do come true: Cutler is a Bear.
I find myself in the most unusual of positions, I am on bended knee in worship of Jerry Angelo and the ownership. I, along with a huge portion of the fan base, owe the deepest of apologies to these two entities.
Sorry! And thank you. Whether or not Jay Cutler rides in on a white horse and delivers the Bears to the promised land you have to give credit to Angelo for doing something that is unprecedented in Bears history, making a big splash in hopes of actually getting better as opposed to maintaining mediocrity.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In the terminal mindset of Bears' fans(and Chicago sports fans in general) we are simply not accustomed to such a bold move.
Yes, there are the usual predictions of doom and gloom, a lot of fans who complain that Angelo can't draft competently in the first round will flip-flop and now carp and gripe that the two first rounders we gave up will go on to be used to draft two future hall of fame players.
You will hear a lot of trite statements centered around drinking the metaphorical "kool-aid." "Cutler is immature" et cetera. Blah, blah, blah. Let's actually be happy for once Chicago fans. We just traded for a top 10 in the league quarterback who is coming off of a pro-bowl worthy season with a not-very-good team.
He is bound to be an asset for a team that had a winning season and just missed the playoffs.
Yes. The Bears record last year at 9-7 wasn't impressive, but when you factor in that they lost most of those seven games by a very narrow margin, and are returning basically the same team with an upgrade at the most critical position on the field it has to give you hope.
It is no secret that Cutler has an extremely strong arm, (comparisons to Elway aside) and that is a prerequisite for any quarterback to have success in the often times atrocious weather of Soldier Field, On that note something that should be concerning to Bears' fan is Devin "whoopsie" Hesters hands.
I think that any objective and analytical fan has seen the "ridiculous" one muff way too many easy catches at whatever position he is playing to not think that this could pose a problem. What will happen when he is staring down a blistering Cutler rocket in tight coverage?
Hopefully Hester has been spending quality time in a steady relationship with a Juggs machine and continues to show improvement in all of his receiving skills. At least he won't outrun Cutler's arm like it seemed to happen a few too many times last season. And Rashied "Dropsie" Davis?
Well, let's not think about that right now. The average fan is in too good of a mood to let those horrendous teflon hands of his bring them down.
Another synergistic circumstance that could meld together to be a huge improvement for the Black and Blue division's Bears is the familiarity of three important cogs in their offensive machine.
Offensive tackle Chris Williams and wide receiver Earl Bennett both played with Cutler at Vanderbilt. In fact, Cutler even went to Bennett's pro day last year to throw passes to him in front of the scouts deciding his future.
While playing in shorts on an open field with no defense is a far cry from the incredible game time speed of your average NFL game, one would have to think that Bennett's confidence and rapport with his onetime college gun-slingin' signal caller would have to be a huge boon compared to being a second year player on the field with virtually no actual game experience and familiarity with what's happening and who he is playing with.
A little boost in confidence can do wonders for for a players real time skills.
While there have been a plethora of negative references to Cutler's supposed immaturity of late it shouldn't worry joe-fan. Favre? Immature jerk. Terry Bradshaw was an immature guy when he was playing. Heck, Joe Namath is still an immature jerk (although Suzie Kolber is very kissable).
Let's not forget that Jon Elway, whose legendary shadow Cutler is now free from, is a legend in Denver only because he was childish and demanded to be traded from the team that originally drafted him because he didn't want to play for a loser.
Let Cutler have a few years and one or more Super Bowl rings on his finger and the maturity tag will be rendered moot. Sound like I'm drinking the kool-aid? Well, for once it is mighty refreshing.
