Oregon Football Recruiting: Meet All 2013 Commits
This is a new era of Oregon Ducks football, and with a new era comes a new head coach.
Chip Kelly went to the NFL to take a head coaching job with the Philadelphia Eagles. Kelly (and more specifically his offense) was a huge reason for Oregon's success on the recruiting trail, and Ducks' football and recruiting could have easily fallen a notch or two when he left for the NFL.
Instead, Oregon made the right move and promoted offensive coordinator Mark Helfrich. He was easily the best hire considering he undoubtedly knows the offensive system, and he brought a level of consistency to the recruiting trail.
Now that the 2013 recruiting cycle is about to wrap up, let's take a look at the recruits Helfrich and Oregon were able to bring in to be the future of Oregon football.

Position: OT
Stars: 4-star
High School: Centennial High School (CA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Cal
Commit Date: 2/6 8:30 PT

It had been reported (Grant Marek/GoldenBearReport.com) that Hunt has decommitted from Cal and will sign with Oregon on national signing day and that came true on. Hunt is the No. 19 offensive tackle in the 2013 class, according to the 247Sports Composite.
Thomas Tyner

Weight: 207 lbs.
Position: RB
Stars: 5-star
High School: Aloha High School (OR)
Senior Stats: 3,415 yards, 45 touchdowns, 1 receiving touchdown
Other Finalists: UCLA
Commit Date: Oct. 18, 2012
Analysis
Thomas Tyner is going to be the next great running back for Oregon. He's a big, physical runner who can pick up tough yards between the tackles, but he's also incredibly fast. Tyner runs a 4.30 40, according to 247Sports.
Oregon will most likely want to get him on the field right away, so watch for him to get a lot of looks as a freshman.
Tyrell Robinson
4 of 19Height: 6'3''
Weight: 200 lbs.
Position: OLB
Stars: 4-star
High School: Abraham Lincoln High School (CA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Washington, USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State
Commit Date: Sept. 23, 2012
Analysis
Tyrell Robinson is Tyree's brother, and while they do have many similarities, there are some differences. For one, Tyrell projects to play outside linebacker for Oregon and he's a very good linebacker prospect.
He's ranked as the No. 12 outside linebacker in the 2013 class, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He's also another player who can come in and play a huge sub role right away for Oregon, but he's a year or two away from being a starter.
Darren Carrington
5 of 19Height: 6'3''
Weight: 180 lbs.
Position: WR
Stars: 4-star
High School: Horizon High School (CA)
Senior Stats: 51 receptions, 900 yards, 14 touchdowns
Other Finalists: Arizona, Ohio State
Commit Date: June 20, 2012
Analysis
With a plethora of upperclassmen slated to play at the wide receiver position in 2013, Carrington could be a good redshirt option. When he does see the field, though, he has a ton of potential. He has very good size at 6'3'', 180 pounds coming out of high school, and he's a player that can do a lot of things on the football field.
He's also listed as a quarterback and cornerback (247Sports). In time, Carrington could become a big playmaker in Oregon's offense.
Danny Mattingly
6 of 19Height: 6'4''
Weight: 215 lbs.
Position: OLB
Stars: 3-star
High School: Mead High School (WA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Notre Dame, Miami, Arizona State, UCLA
Commit Date: Dec. 22, 2012
Analysis
Landing Mattingly's commitment was very big for Oregon, and he has the potential to far outplay his 3-star ranking. He has good size for his position, but where he'll set himself apart is his speed on the edges. He runs a 4.70 40, according to 247Sports.
Mattingly will fit in perfectly at Oregon, and he could end up being a star outside linebacker in a few years. He'll also be a good situational and special teams player because of his speed in his first few seasons.
Damion Hobbs
7 of 19Height: 6'2''
Weight: 200 lbs.
Position: ATH
Stars: 3-star
High School: Cedar Hill High School (TX)
Senior Stats: 2,769 passing yards, 29 passing touchdowns, 808 running yards, 12 running touchdowns
Other Finalists: Arkansas State, Utah State
Commit Date: Jan. 30, 2013
Analysis
Damion Hobbs is a recent Oregon commitment and he's a big pickup for the Ducks. He's ranked as an athlete and he can play quarterback. Look for him to get reps at wide receiver with the Ducks, though.
Joe Walker
8 of 19Height: 6'3''
Weight: 230 lbs.
Position: OLB
Stars: 3-star
School: Los Angeles Harbor College, Palos Verdes (CA)
2012 Stats: 102 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, 1 fumble recovery
Other Finalists: Texas A&M, Duke, Syracuse
Commit Date: Dec. 9, 2012, Signed: Dec. 19, 2012
Analysis
Joe Walker is a very important JUCO commitment for Oregon, and he could end up making a very big impact in his first season with the Ducks. He has good size for a linebacker, and he was obviously very productive at the JUCO level.
He'll be a big-time depth player in his first year with Oregon and will most likely be one of the first subs in the game at the linebacker position.
Devon Allen
9 of 19Height: 6'1''
Weight: 187 lbs.
Position: WR
Stars: 4-star
High School: Brophy Prep (AZ)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: UCLA, Arkansas, Florida State
Commit Date: Jan. 25, 2013
Analysis
Allen is a big-time wideout pickup for the Ducks. He runs a 4.48 40, according to 247Sports, and he's the No. 36 ranked wideout in the country. He has the speed to fit in with Oregon's offense.
Tyree Robinson
10 of 19Height: 6'4''
Weight: 190 lbs.
Position: ATH/S
Stars: 4-star
High School: Abraham Lincoln High School (CA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Washington, USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State
Commit Date: Sept. 23, 2012
Analysis
Tyree Robinson has the chance to be a very good player for Oregon. He has great size for a safety at 6'4'', 190 pounds and he's extremely athletic. Robinson is also a recruit who could play basketball for the Ducks.
The Ducks are set at safety for the immediate future, but in one or two seasons, Robinson has the potential to be a very dynamic starter for Oregon.
Chris Seisay
11 of 19Height: 6'1''
Weight: 185 lbs.
Position: S
Stars: 3-star
High School: American Canyon High School (CA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Boise State, Utah State
Commit Date: June 22, 2012
Analysis
In Seisay, Oregon is getting yet another athletic and talented safety recruit. Chances are he'll be on the depth chart behind Robinson, which means he's a few years from seeing the field consistently as a safety. With that in mind, he could end up getting a redshirt, but at the very least, he'll be valuable on special teams.
Matt Wogan
12 of 19Height: 6'2''
Weight: 195 lbs.
Position: K
Stars: 3-star
High School: Porter Ridge High School (NC)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: N/A
Commit Date: June 26, 2012
Analysis
For all intents and purposes, it appears as if Matt Wogan will be the future kicker of Oregon's program. He's ranked as the No. 2 kicker in the country, according to 247Sports, and he'll play a very big role early on. Expect Wogan to compete with Alejandro Maldonado for the starting job.
Kani Benoit
13 of 19Height: 5'11''
Weight: 205 lbs.
Position: RB
Stars: 3-star
High School: Thunderbird High School (AZ)
Senior Stats: 2,260 yards, 36 touchdowns
Other Finalists: Colorado State, UNLV
Commit Date: Feb. 3, 2013
Analysis
Kani Benoit just recently committed to Oregon, and he represents a big recruiting win for the Ducks. He has tremendous size at 5'11'', 205 pounds and he's a former UNLV and Colorado State commitment. Benoit took a late visit to Oregon and committed a few days later.
Evan Voeller
14 of 19Height: 6'5''
Weight: 280 lbs.
Position: OT
Stars: 4-star
High School: West Linn High School (OR)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Washington, UCLA, Nebraska, Cal
Commit Date: April 30, 2012
Analysis
Evan Voeller is arguably the most important player from this 2013 class. The Ducks will have a major depth chart need at the guard position with Nick Cody and Ryan Clanton leaving. Voeller can play guard or tackle, so he should end up being the first backup at both guard positions next season.
He'll be a very valuable lineman for Oregon as a freshman, and he should eventually move into a starting spot at either tackle or guard in the next few seasons.
Johnny Mundt
15 of 19Height: 6'4''
Weight: 235 lbs.
Position: TE
Stars: 3-star
High School: Central Catholic High School (CA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Duke
Commit Date: June 18, 2012
Analysis
Mundt has very good size and could eventually be a very important tight end in Oregon's offense. As of now, though, he'll be looking up the depth chart to see starter Colt Lyerla and/or redshirt freshman Evan Baylis.
There are also players like Pharaoh Brown and Koa Ka'ai in front of Mundt. Redshirting Mundt this season would be a good idea for Oregon.
Juwaan Williams
16 of 19Height: 6'0''
Weight: 181 lbs.
Position: WR
Stars: 3-star
High School: Tucker High School (GA)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Vanderbilt
Commit Date: Jan. 28, 2013
Analysis
Landing Juwaan Williams is a pretty big win for Oregon. He's a Georgia recruit, and in Oregon's offense, you can never have too many wide receivers. Tempo is everything, as is having fresh players out on the field.
Doug Brenner
17 of 19Height: 6'3''
Weight: 255 lbs.
Position: C
Stars: 3-star
High School: Jesuit High School (OR)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Oregon State
Commit Date: Sept. 9, 2012
Analysis
Brenner is a very important commitment for Oregon. He can play either side of the ball, but most likely, he'll end up as a center. The kicker is, with Hroniss Grasu as the starter, there's not an immediate need at the position for Brenner to come in and fill.
He'll be a very valuable backup in his first season, though, and his versatility could be useful in other facets of the game, like special teams.
Elijah George
18 of 19Height: 6'5''
Weight: 260 lbs.
Position: WDE
Stars: 3-star
High School: Arbor View High School (NV)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: Duke
Commit Date: Jan. 27, 2013
Analysis
George has very good potential as a defensive end at 6'5'', 260 pounds. He's a big late recruiting cycle pickup for the Ducks, and he's ranked as the No. 3 player from the state of Nevada (247Sports Composite). He has the ability to be a big impact player at Oregon.
Jake Pisarcik
19 of 19Height: 6'3''
Weight: 280 lbs.
Position: OG
Stars: 2-star
High School: Shawnee High School (NJ)
Senior Stats: N/A
Other Finalists: N/A
Commit Date: Dec. 18, 2012
Analysis
Depth is a major need at the guard position for Oregon, so Pisarcik is a very important recruit. He's only a 2-star recruit, but that doesn't mean that he won't be effective in time. He has good height and size, so he has the measurables to be a solid guard at the college level. He fills a huge depth need for Oregon right away, so securing his commitment was very important for the Ducks.
