Race Seperates Jay Cutler and Chad Johnson
According to ESPN.com, the Broncos are now willing to trade disgruntled quarterback Jay Cutler. Chad Johnson is somewhere pissed off at Drew Rosenhaus right now.
But why was Cutler able to weasel out of Denver after a tumultuous offseason while Johnson is still stuck in the queen city? Is it because of position? Maybe location? Importance to team?
What about race?

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While I do not believe that race has anything to do with Johnson’s failed attempt at departure from the Bengals, I do think that race will play a part if this question is raised.
But more on race later.
The Bronco’s have a problem on their hands. Owner Pat Bowlen may have placed too much confidence in his new rookie head coach and there is no contingency plan in place if Cutler is traded.
But here’s the thing, Bowlen has so much faith in McDaniels that he trust that his head coach is making the right decision in trading Cutler.
I believe that Bowlen also believes his team may be losing any type of chemistry that has developed with the addition of Cutler by this on-going saga; so he just wants to cut his losses.
Over in Cincinnati, Johnson lulls in mediocrity due to his un-willingness to cooperate. He stomped and cried about the team being un-fair to him; even saying that his relationship with head coach Marvin Lewis was chilly at best.
Johnson used every media outlet to his advantage to voice his displeasure with the Bengals and to lobby for a trade or his release.
The result? He is still in Cincinnati and his Reggie Wayne, TJ Houshmanzadah, made his way to Seattle.
There is also the position factor. But I take the reverse position on this because a quarterback’s worth to a team outweighs that of a wide receiver.
Pat and Josh may regret their decision to get rid of Jay simply because good quarterbacks do not just fall out of the sky; especially good quarterbacks from Vanderbilt.
If Bowlen elects to go with a Chris Simms or Kellen Clemons to lead his team, which may not bode well for a Denver defense that ran Mike Shanahan out of town.
Next, McDaniels may have too much faith in his own ability to make great quarterbacks out of average ones.
Maybe he thinks the next Matt Cassel is sitting on his roster or someone else’s. If Josh turns Simms or Clemens or whoever into Cassel, that would only do more to boost his ego and reputation as a quarterback guru.
Lastly, race will be brought up because Johnson is black and Cutler is white and we live in a nation that is based off of race. That’s how we identify ourselves and it’s how we define ourselves.
Chad Johnson is no different from Jay Cutler, but it makes you wonder why he’s having such a hard time in getting his release from the Bengals.
There is also the fact that Johnson is consistently bashed in the media for his antics and Cutler was given the benefit of the doubt.
However, these two teams have two different philosophy’s regarding players. The Bengals don’t want to pushed around and the Bronco’s are tired of pushing back.
Cutler and Johnson are one in the same; but only one player seems to have his way.
