Dear Fans of the New York Jets,

Growing up in the general area of Brett Favre's birth, I've naturally been a fan of the man since I first understood football. When Christmas came around, everyone's favorite question to ask everyone else was if Brett was done.

Last year Brett told us he was, then told us that he wasn't. With that, he threw his Cheesehead on the ground and fled to New York, where he shared a stadium with another local favorite, Eli Manning.

Seemingly overnight, many South Mississippians became Jets fans. Some even bought a brand new Jets jersey with "FAVRE" emblazoned on the back of them.

It seemed strange, seeing all of this happen, but we went with the flow and began to embrace the Jets.

It didn't seem like that big of a deal to us when he finally retired a few months back, but I wanted to ask you, the fans of the Jets, if the trade for Favre was worth it.

You gave up whatever draft pick you gave up, gave your quarterback to Miami, and fired your coach when it was all over. The Cleveland Browns, seeing some potential, immediately snatched him up. The Miamia Dolphins won the division with a Pro Bowl caliber season from your quarterback.

Was it all a mistake, or was he really worth all of that trouble?

That's my question Jets fans, please answer it for me.
