Minnesota Vikings Seven-Round Mock Draft, Updated 3/21
I sat around bored for the majority of the day. Once again, it's another slow day in the NFL. The most exciting thing I heard was that the Chiefs are working out Florida State defensive end Everette Brown.
I can't be the only one who is bored out of their mind right now. To pass the time, I decided to update my Vikings Seven-Round Mock Draft.
Surprisingly, my mock draft has changed significantly. I have a different first-round pick and seventh-round pick.
In my last article, I took some criticism for my picks. I agreed with many of the comments, but some were outrageous, and they hardly fased me.
Let's get to it. I hope you enjoy.
Round One: Hakeem Nicks, Wide Receiver, North Carolina
With the signing of Glenn Holt, the Vikings no longer need a kick returner. I have faith in Holt to be a threat on special teams.
I had Percy Harvin being the pick only a couple days ago. I no longer think he will be the choice. It would surprise if the Vikings did select him. He is talented, but he is not what Minnesota needs.
Hakeem Nicks is a 6'4" stud from North Carolina. I took a look at a video posted on YouTube, which showed some of his incredible catches. He has been compared in many ways to Arizona Cardinals receiver Anquan Boldin.
Round Two: Phil Loadholt, Offensive Tackle, Oklahoma
His stock rose to a late first-round pick just a few weeks ago. Now, he is back down to the middle of the second round.
I am all about getting big and physical offensive lineman. Does a 6'8" offensive lineman intimidate you? He would intimidate me.
The right tackle spot is a need for Minnesota. Ryan Cook is not starting material. There must be a change at this position.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Round Three: Keenan Lewis, Cornerback, Oregon State
Cedric Griffin recently received a contract extension. This means that the Vikings have confidence in his ability.
Karl Paymah was recently signed for depth purposes. Does he have potential to be an impact player? He is young and has good size. But, currently, Paymah is unproven.
Keenan Lewis is a project player. However, if he works hard, he could be a factor in the future. Plus, the Vikings need to think about the future of their secondary considering that Antoine Winfield is almost 32 years old.
Round Four:
The Vikings' fourth-round pick was traded to the Houston Texans for QB Sage Rosenfels.
Round Five: Louis Ellis, Nose Tackle, Shaw
This is the only pick thus far that has stayed the same. I still believe that the Vikings need a young defensive tackle.
Louis Ellis is 312 pounds, and he could be the potential replacement to Pat Williams. There is also a chance that the "Williams Wall" will be suspended for the first four games of the season.
The Vikings must have depth on the defensive line. They cannot have Jimmy Kennedy starting four games.
Round Six:
The Vikings' sixth-round pick was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles for QB Kelly Holcomb.
Round Seven A: Brett Helms, Center, LSU
It took some convincing, but I realized that John Sullivan will be the future center for the Vikings.
His potential is sky-rocketing right now. He seems poised to be the future of the Vikings' offensive line. I have confidence in him.
Nonetheless, depth is a big issue. Matt Birk is now a Baltimore Raven. I wish he could have stuck around for a few more years.
Round Seven B: Travis McCall, Fullback, Alabama
The Vikings missed out on the chance to get the best free-agent fullback on the roster, Leonard Weaver. Case in point, he signed with the Eagles.
Naufahu Tahi has been offered a contract sheet from the Bengals. Minnesota has the chance to match the $1.04-million dollar deal that he has been offered.
To me, the Vikings should pick Travis McCall. He's 276 pounds, and he has great blocking capabilities.
