Dallas Cowboys Need It All This Offseason
Well, up until last week, the biggest move by Dallas was trading starting cornerback Anthony Henry for former Lions quarterback Jon Kitna.
Yes, the backup quarterback spot was a disaster last season when Tony Romo was injured; Brad Johnson was a mess. But this move puzzled me, because Henry was the team's best defensive back, and cornerback was their worst position overall. In exchange, they got a player who may or may not play this year.
Then the big news came: Terrell Owens was Cowboys-call-a-T-O--on-No--81.html" target="_blank">released last week.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The timing seems odd on this move. Since Jerry Jones did not release Owens at the very beginning of free agency, the Cowboys lost out on T.J. Houshmandzadeh, who signed with Seattle before T.O. was cut.
Now, the wide receiver corps is composed of Roy Williams (as the No. 1), Patrick Crayton, Sam Hurd, and Austin Miles. We saw how Crayton played when he was the No. 2, and that was not good at all.
It is too late in the free agency game to get a wideout that way, so expect the Cowboys to get a wide receiver late in the game.
Dallas also released overrated safety Roy Williams (the other one), so the 'Boys will be needing some secondary work in the draft. This year they have zero first-round picks because they gave theirs to Detroit to get Roy Williams.
All of the haters out there who say Dallas paid too high a price for Williams: The NFL rarely has trades, and one involving an offensive skill position player is even more rare. Williams had to learn a whole new system on the fly, which is why he caught only 19 passes in his 10 games.
Going into the draft, Dallas needs defensive help, especially in the linebackers and secondary, because Zach Thomas and newest Cowboy Keith Brooking are both old. I'm no draft expert here, so I will not toss out any names, but expect the Cowboys to make some draft-day trades, as they normally do.
Also, look for Dallas to take a quarterback late to maybe groom as a future backup for Tony Romo. Defense will be the key, though, with linebackers and secondary; then maybe they'll take a wideout to round up the corps.
