Jay Cutler Is Not Leaving The Mile High City, Josh McDaniels' NEW New England
Take a rocket launcher for an arm, intelligence, mobility, and cockiness, and what do you have? A young gunslinger in Jay Cutler
After all the hoopla surrounding the proposed trade of Broncos’ quarterback, on March 4 Denver spokesman Patrick Smyth said, “The Denver Broncos are not trading Jay Cutler—period."
Every NFL team’s writer on B/R wants Cutler, from the Jets, to the Vikings, and even Bears. If nothing else good comes from the trade talks, it is great to know Cutler has opened the eyes of many fans, league wide.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Sorry to all you NFL fans out there, but Jay Cutler is, and will be the future of the Denver Broncos’ franchise.
Even though he is yet to play in the post season, Cutler’s pro bowl selection and huge numbers are showing he has the capability to be a top-tier quarterback in today’s NFL.
If he can be the next John Elway is yet to be seen, although Cutler himself has proclaimed his arm is stronger than the hall of famer’s.
The talks were a wake up call to the league, but more importantly to the Broncos organization. McDaniels is definitely in charge of this team, and no one’s job is safe, including the young all star quarterback’s.
Josh McDaniels has taken the reigns of the team like a, dare I say, young Bill Belichick. He’s confident, intelligent, and firmly in control after making an example of Cutler.
Along with gaining leadership through the proposed trade of Cutler to Tampa Bay in a three team deal which included New England and Matt Cassel, McDaniels has begun to establish “Patriots West” in other ways also.
Take his signings of second-tier role players like Correll Buckhalter, Ronald Fields, or Chris Simms. These players must play hard, and fit their role, or leave.
McDaniels brought in Jabar Gaffney, LaMont Jordan, and Lonie Paxton, all former Patriots which will fall in line and spread good character through the locker room. Even backup receiver Chad Jackson once played in Patriots’ red and blue, and they can all attest to Belichick’s winning way.
Something McDaniels hopes to bring to Denver.
Likewise, Brian Dawkins is a great character guy that can provide leadership to a new, likely young defense with many fresh faces. Dawkins, along with Champ Bailey, Renaldo Hill, and Andre’ Goodman, comprise a Denver secondary that will be solid.
Overall, the defense looks to change a great deal, moving to the 3-4 scheme (like New England) under new guru Mike Nolan.
Indeed, many names will be unfamiliar, but an overhaul was called for after Denver gave up an atrocious 448 points in 2008. DJ Williams, Elvis Dumervil, and Marcus Thomas join Bailey as the only four 2008 starters looking to play the Broncos in ’09.
For McDaniels to fully convert Denver into New New England, he must continue to preach the need for team ideals.
Everyone has a role, big contract or not. Egos must be pushed aside for the desire of winning and playing as a cohesive unit.
If the players and coaches can work together, the Broncos could be great. If not in 2009, then definitely in the near future.
