Despite a glaring need at defensive tackle, Buccaneers fans have chosen the dynamic Percy Harvin, who will step in and be a slot receiver to start off his NFL career.  This pick is a bit curious to me, but it is a solid choice nonetheless.

Now we move back to Detroit, where the team has already drafted troubled offensive tackle Andre Smith.  The Lions are still in need of an identity, and I doubt it will come in the form of Daunte Culpepper.  Not long-term anyway.  Here are the top needs for the Lions if they address the offensive line with their first pick.

1.  Quarterback

2.  Defensive End

3.  Cornerback

4.  Safety

5.  Wide Receiver

You make the call, Lions fans!  Vote in the poll for the player you think fits best with the organization for the 20th pick in this year's draft!

1.  Josh Freeman; Quarterback, Kansas State

Freeman is in a very similar mold to current quarterback Daunte Culpepper.  He is big, athletic, and has a very strong arm.  His talent is fairly raw, but give him a couple of years and he could develop into a very solid quarterback.

2.  Vontae Davis; Cornerback, Illinois

The Lions' defensive backfield can be described in many different words, but we will go with pitiful.  A big, athletic corner like Davis could help improve that area of the defense for Detroit.

3.  Michael Johnson; Defensive End, Georgia Tech

One of the reasons why their pass defense is so bad is because of a simple lack of pass rush.  Michael Johnson has the athleticism and size to be a pass-rushing beast at the next level.

4.  Knowshon Moreno; Running Back, Georgia

While Kevin Smith was a very effective back as a rookie, the two-headed monster is a very popular trend right now in the NFL, and the Lions should be no exception.  A backfield of Moreno and Smith would be very potent.

5.  Clay Matthews; Outside Linebacker, USC

A do-it-all type of player, Matthews would be a very good addition to any team, not just the Lions.  Not only does he fill a need at outside linebacker to complement Ernie Sims, but he fills a major lack of passion and desire on special teams.

There you have it, Lions fans!  Vote in the poll for the player you think your team should take with the 20th pick in this mock draft!
